  • 4 Email your contacts from within Elan, the sent email will land in your Outlook sent items. Sync to bring the communication into the Elan contact record.

  • Golden Rules for Email Sync 1.Outlook mail box folder Subfolder to Inbox, label with one word In Elan the path in setup is case sensitive E.g. Inbox/Elan 2.Date in setup vs. date of email Once a successful sync has occurred the date will change to current and only emails after this date/time will sync To change sync date, go to Calendar / Email Integration in User Setup AND change Days Before Today, use at least one number each time. 3.Password Update When your WR password changes, change in Elan setup too 4.The email address in Outlook must match the email address on the contact in Elan

  • Right mouse on Inbox to create a folder for emails destined for Elan Put in folder sent and received emails (be mindful of the date of the email Be mindful that the email address must match with the Contact email in Elan STEP 1, setup Outlook

  • Step 5, check the email message is in Elan 1.From the contact screen, Return to Account 2.After a short delay, go back into the contact screen and the email message(s) should be there

  • If the email message is not in Elan 1.Go to another Contact for which you have an email message in the Outlook folder. The reason for some emails syncing and some not is the email address in Elan does not match that used in Outlook. (This is prevented by clicking on the email contact screen to create the message) Resolution Compare email address for Contact in Elan with email address in Outlook, amend Contact email address in Elan, back in setup change Days Before Today (to one bigger), save and Force Email Sync. Trouble Shooting 1.

  • If no email messages are in Elan 1.Go back into User Setup 2.Check for Email Interface Error message. An error message is usually the result of an incorrect WR password, re-enter password, return to Contact screen and Force Email Sync again. Trouble Shooting 2.

  • If no error message Check for Synchronization From Date/Time If current date and time (-6 hours) is not showing sync has not occurred. Revisit the Golden Rules and check all elements of setup screen (see next slide) Trouble Shooting 3.
