Principal’s Report: Prep Practice:
The first Prep Practice for
our 2015 prep students will
be held next Monday, 17th
November.
All new prep students have
been invited to visit our school
from 9.30am 12.00pm.
Our newest students will enjoy
a tour of the school before
enjoying some fun activities
while their parents/carers have
a cup of coffee and a chat with
me.
Student Lunches:
After undertaking a casual
“audit” of school lunches last
week I was shocked to discover
the amount of “occasional” or
“junk” food in some children's
lunch boxes.
Children—and adults - need
substantial, quality food to
sustain them during the day.
While acknowledging it is
always the parents’ right to
provide food they deem
appropriate, I encourage all
parents to ensure children have
suitable food for lunch.
Grade 1 Activity Night:
Grade 1 children will be
participating in an Activity
Program at school from 3.15-
6.00pm tomorrow, Thursday
13th November.
The children will be preparing
and then eating afternoon tea.
They will then participate in
fun activities and games.
All grade 1 children are asked
to wear green coloured
clothing instead of their school
uniform tomorrow.
Road Safety:
Red Cliffs Police contacted me
yesterday to express their
concern about several road
safety issues.
They have received reports of
students riding scooters and
bikes without wearing helmets.
By law, every person riding a
scooter or bike (or any
wheeled device) must wear a
helmet.
As well as avoiding a possible
$185.00 fine, the wearing of a
helmet helps to ensure your
child’s safety in the event of an
accident.
Police will be patrolling school
zones regularly before and
after school.
MiloT20 Blast:
Nine Grade 5/6 students travelled
to Aerodrome Ovals in Mildura to
complete in the 2014 Milo T20
Blast Cricket competition today.
Conditions were a little warm but
as always our students
represented their school with
distinction.
Our students won two games and
lost one game, narrowly missing
out on the major final.
Well done kids!
Money Owing:
Some parents will soon be
receiving individual reminder
invoices for outstanding
payments.
The school is owed significant
money from parents for (i) the
grade 5/6 Lake Cullulleraine
Camp (ii) unpaid School
Materials Charges and (iii) the
Grade 3/4 Local Camp.
Parents owing money are asked
to finalise their accounts before
the end of November.
Have a great week!
