Our trip to the Blue Mountain

On Friday we went to the Blue Mountains. We stayed at David and Della’s house. It has

a big garden with lots of colourful flowers and a tennis court.

On Saturday we saw the Three Sisters and went on the scenic railway. It was scary. Then,

Mummy and I went shopping with Della. We went to some antique shops and I tried on some old

hats. On Sunday we went on the Scenic Skyway and it rocked. We saw cockatoos having a

shower.

In the afternoon we went home. That was very pleasent moment with my family that I

ever got.

My Holiday

       Last week I went to Mount Bromo. I stayed at my friend's house in Probolinggo, East

Java. The house has a big garden with colorful flowers and a small pool.

       In the morning, my friend and I saw Mount Batok. The scenery was very beautiful. We

rode on horseback. It was scary, but it was fun. Then, we went to get a closer look at the

mountain. We took pictures of the beautiful scanery there. After that, we took a rest and

had lunch under a big tree. Before we got home, we went to the zoo at Wonokromo. We

went home in the afternoon.

       We were very tired. However, I think it was really fun to have a holiday like this. I hope

R.A. Kartini

       Every april 21 people in indonesia commemorate the kartini day.

It is beautiful day for the woman because we celebrate the birth of

great lady R.A. Kartini. Everyone knows who kartini is. she is our

national heroine and a great lady with the bright idea.

       Kartini was born in 1879 april 21 in mayong jepara. Her father

was Rama Sosroningrat Wedana (assistant of head of regency) in

mayong. her mother, Ma Ngasirah was a girl from Teluk Awur village

in Jepara as the daughter of a noble family, she felt luck because

she got more than the ordinary people got. She got better education

than other children in november 12 1903 she married adipati

djoyodiningrat, the head of rembang regency. According to javanese

tradition Kartini had to follow her husband. then she moved to

rembang.

       In september 13 1904 she gave a birth to her son. his name was

singgih. but after giving birth to a son, her condition was getting

worse and she finally passed away on september 17 1904 on her 25

years old.

       Now kartini has gone. but her spirit and dream will always be in

our heart. nowadays indonesian women progress is influenced by

kartini's spirit stated on collection of letter habis gelap terbitlah

Vacation to London

          Mr. Richard’s family was on vacation. They are Mr. and Mrs. Richard with two sons. They 

went to London. They saw their travel agent and booked their tickets. They went to the British 

Embassy to get visas to enter Britain. They had booked fourteen days tour. This includes travel 

and accommodation. They also included tours around London. They boarded a large Boeing 

flight. The flight was nearly fourteen hours.

       On the plane the cabin crews were very friendly. They gave them news paper and magazine 

to read. They gave them food and drink. There was a film for their entertainment. They had a 

very pleasant flight. They slept part of the way.

          On arrival at Heathrow Airport, they had to go to Customs and Immigration. The officers 

were pleasant. They checked the document carefully but their manners were very polite. Mr. 

Richard and his family collected their bags and went to London Welcome Desk. They arranged 

the transfer to a hotel.

          The hotel was a well-known four-star hotel. The room had perfect view of the park. The 

room had its own bathroom and toilet. Instead of keys for the room, they inserted a key-card to 

open the door. On the third floor, there was a restaurant serving Asian and European food. 

They had variety of food.

       The two week in London went by fast. At the end of the 14-day, they were quite tired but 

they felt very happy.

CAMPING AT MOUNT CIREMAI

Last weekend, my friends and I went camping in the mountain

Sunday The Terrible

  Last week was a terrible day for me . My cousin and I were playing football

infront of the house to spend time with us . First , it was really fun until I

kicked the ball too strong , so the ball leaded me to the window and broke

the window . When we want to escape , all of a sudden we all heard a loud

voice . After that , the owner of the house came out of the fence , he yelled

at us . We are very afraid of her , but we do not know what to do . Then , one

of my cousins told us to run , we all ran , and suddenly we heard the sound

of skin . Then we know that homeowners allow dogs to chase us . And we

were struggling to run as fast as her as we can. But , I fell down so the dog

managed to capture me and bit my leg . It really hurts me . Then the dog ran

back into the house . My cousin took me to the doctor and told my parents .

In the end, the doctor said that I was exposed to rabies . Then I was

hospitalized for one week more . that's a terrible day of the week for me ,

may not happen to me again in his next week Sunday.

Story of Rabbit and Bear

Once upon a time, there lived as neighbours, a bear and a rabbit. The rabbit is a good shot. In contrary, the bear is always clumsy ad could not use the arrow to good advantage.

One day, the bear called over the rabbit and asked the rabbit to take his bow and arrows and came with bear to the other side of the hill. The rabbit was fearing to arouse the bear's anger so he could not refuse it. He consented and went with the bear and shot enough buffalo to satisfy the hungry family. Indeed he shot and killed so many that there was lots of meat left after the bear and his family had loaded themselves and packed all they could carry home.

The bear was very gluttonous and did not want the rabbit to get any of the meat. Th e rabbit could not even taste the blood from the butchering as the bear would throw earth on the blood and dry it up. The poor rabbit would have to go home hungry after his hard day's work.

The bear was the father of five children. The youngest child was very kind to the rabbit. He was very hearty eater. The mother bear always gave him an extra large piece of meat but the youngest child did not eat it. He would take it outside with him and pretended to play ball with the meat. He kicked toward the rabbit's house and when he got close to the door he would give the meat with such a great kick. The meat would fly into the rabbit's house. In this way, the poor rabbit would get his meal unknown to the papa bear.

Love Story of Antony and Cleopatra

Mark Antony became one of the three rulers of the Roman Empire, together with Octavius

Caesar and Lepidus, and was responsible for the eastern part of the empire. He fell in love with

Cleopatra, the Queen of Egypt.

As his wife had just died Antony married Octavius’ sister, Octavia, in an attempt to heal the rift

between the two emperors. When Cleopatra heard about Antony’s marriage she flew into a

jealous rage as she knew that Antony did not love Octavia. Antony went to Athens when war

broke out between Caesar and Pompey, Antony sent Octavia back to Rome and he returned to

Egypt.

Caesar was very angry with Antony’s behaviour and he declared war on both Antony and

Cleopatra. When the Romans arrived, Antony was offered a choice of how to fight. He chose to

fight on sea. The Egyptian navy was inadequate. When Cleopatra’s navy turned and fled, Antony

followed them. Caesar defeated him.

Antony got news that Cleopatra was dead. Antony was devastated and decided to kill himself.

He wounded himself without dying. His followers took him to Cleopatra’s tomb, where he died

in her arms.

Once, a cap seller was passing through a jungle. He was very tired and needed to rest. Then,

he stopped and spread a cloth under a tree. He placed his bag full of caps near him and lay

down with his cap on his head.

The cap seller had a sound sleep for one hour. When he got up, the first thing he did was to

look into his bag. He was startled when he found all his caps were not there.

When he looked up the sky, he was very surprised to see monkeys sitting on the branches

of a tree, each of the monkeys is wearing a cap of on its head. They had evidently done it to

imitate him

He decided to get his caps back by making a humble request to the monkeys. In return, the

monkeys only made faces of him. When he begun to make gesture, the monkeys also

imitated him.

At last he found a clever idea. " Monkeys are a great imitator," he thought. So he took off his

own cap and threw it down on the ground. And as he had expected, all the monkeys took off

the caps and threw the caps down on the ground. Quickly, he stood up and collected the

caps, put them back into his bag and went away.

his work . They get into . There, they found Snow White woke up from his

White said , " My name is Snow White . " One dwarf said , " If you want , you

can stay here with us . ' Snow White tells all about her story . Then daughter

snow and the seven dwarves are now living happily ever after .

 Once Upon, there was a local ruler named King Sulahkromo thing. Prime Minister King has 

named Raden Sidopekso. Prime Minister 's wife has named Sri Tanjung. She is so beautiful and 

sweet that the king wanted her to be his wife . One day, the King sent the Prime Minister for 

long missions. While the Prime Minister went, the King tried to get Sri Tanjung.But the king 

failed .

He was very angry and upset. So, when Sidopekso back, the King told him that his wife was 

unfaithful to him. Prime Minister is very angry with his wife . Sri Tanjung said that was not true. 

However,   Sidopekso   said   that   he   would   kill   her.   She   took   him   to   the   river   bank.

Before he killed him and threw him into the river, he said that he will be proven innocent Once 

Sidopekso kill him, he threw his body into the river dirty. River soon became clean and start 

spreading   the  wonderful   aroma  and  very   fragrant   .   Sidopekso   said   ,   "   ...  Banyu  Wangi   ... 

Banyuwangi ". It means' fragrant water . Banyuwangi proof of love born of noble and sacred.

Finally , he was ushered into a magnificent palace and height . Young kings were glad to see him again . The Beatiful Kuta Bali

Kuta is the exciting tourist area on the southern part of Bali. It is located in southwestern Bali,

just minutes from the airport.

Kuta is one of the world's most famous beaches. It first attracted Western surfers with its world

renowned surf break followed closely behind by sun worshipers and party goers attracted to its

wide stretches of white sandy beach.

Kuta, In addition to being the sunset site number one, is also the center of night life activities.

Kuta has a shopping mecca, with its lines of shops, boutiques, and galleries. Restaurants line up

the streets as well as the beachfront hotels, ranging from a small, inexpensive homestay to a

luxurious resort.

There are many night clubs along Jalan Legian and Jalan Pantai Kuta. The busiest time for all

night clubs are around from 22:00 and will close until down.

My Beloved Cat

As we know, most cat look so cute, so does my cat. My cat's name is Cuty. I named Cuty

because she looks so cute and make me always want to hug her. Do you want to know

about my cat ?

My Cuty has white and orange fur. It is so soft. And make me always want to stroke it. She

has blue eyes. Her tail is long.And she also has sharp tooth and of course scary me. The

whishkers in her mouth make her si funy.

But, although she looks very cute and funny,when she was angry or want catch her prey

like mouse, she is very scary me. Her paws is look so sharp and long. Her sound also change

like tiger sound. I never approach her when she is angry.

But, when my Cuty back as ussual, I approach her again, and play her ear, her whishkers,

her tail and she look very enjoy it. I love my cat so much.

The Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower is an iron lattice tower located on the Champ de Mars in

Paris. Built in 1889, it has become both a global icon of France and one of

the most recognizable structures in the world. The tower is the tallest

building in Paris and the most-visited paid monument in the world; millions of

people ascend it every year. Named for its designer, engineer Gustave Eiffel,

the tower was built as the entrance arch to the 1889 World’s Fair.

The tower stands 324 metres (1,063 ft) tall, about the same height as an 81-

story building. Upon its completion, it surpassed the Washington Monument

to assume the title of tallest man-made structure in the world, a title it held

for 41 years, until the Chrysler Building in New York City was built in 1930;

however, due to the addition in 1957 of the antenna, the tower is now taller

than the Chrysler Building. Not including broadcast antennas, it is the

second-tallest structure in France after the 2004 Millau Viaduct.

The tower has three levels for visitors. Tickets can be purchased to ascend,

by stairs or lift, to the first and second levels. The walk to the first level is

over 300 steps, as is the walk from the first to the second level. The third

and highest level is accessible only by elevator. Both the first and second

levels feature restaurants.

The tower has become the most prominent symbol of both Paris and France,

often in the establishing shot of films set in the city.

Borobudur Temple

Borobudur is Hindu - Budhist temple. It was build in the nineth century under

Sailendra dynasty of ancient Mataram kingdom. Borobudur is located in

Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia.

Borobudur is well-known all over the world. Its construction is influenced by

the Gupta architecture of India. The temple is constructed on a hill 46 m high

and consist of eight step like stone terrace. The first five terrace are square

and surrounded by walls adorned with Budist sculpture in bas-relief. The

upper three are circular. Each of them is with a circle of bell shape-stupa.

The entire adifice is crowned by a large stupa at the centre at the centre of

the top circle. The way to the summit extends through some 4.8 km of

passage and starways. The design of borobudur which symbolizes the

structure of universe influences temples at Angkor, Cambodia.

Borobudur temple which is rededicated as an Indonesian monument in 1983

is a valuable treasure for Indonesian people.

TIGER

Tigers are recognized by their orange, black , and white stripe pattern. A

tiger’s front paws are large and strong to bring down prey. The tiger is one of

the most charismatic and evocative species on Earth. The front paws of a

tiger have five toes each. Tigers are famous for their thick, orange-tawny

coats, gleaming amber-gold eyes, black to rich brown stripes, and long,

whip-like tail. Most cats don’t like to swim, but on a hot day Tigers love to

swim. All tigers have a similar marking on their forehead, which resembles

the Chinese symbol Wang, meaning King. Tigers do not purr. Unlike the

domestic cat the tigers pupils are round.

The tiger’s foot print is known as the pug mark. There are five toes on a

tigers forefeet and four on its hind feet. A tiger’s night vision is six times

greater than a humans. A tiger’s canine teeth can grow up to three inches

long and would be capable of crunching through the vertebrae of any

creature on this earth. Adult tigers have thirty teeth.On average a tigers tail

is around four feet long or half the length of its body. The tail gives the tiger

extra balance when running and is also used to communicate to other tigers.

The tendons in a tiger’s leg are so strong that an animal has been known to

remain standing after it has been shot dead.The Sumatran tiger has the most

pronounced ruff around its neck. The South China tiger has the fewest

stripes. The fore limbs of a tiger are more powerful than the hind limbs for

grabbing large prey.

Panda

Panda  is  mammals  that  usually   live  in  mountains.  They are an animal  genuine  from China. 

Panda is a carnivore, but their food is same as herbivore, that is bamboo. In captivity, they may 

receive honey, eggs, fish, yams, shrub leaves, oranges, or bananas along with specially prepared 

food. Their ears will move when they chewing their foods.

 Panda including endangered species because they lost their habitats and the birth rate is very 

low. There are about 1.600 pandas  living  in the wild.  Panda’s paw has the thumb and five 

fingers. The thumb is actually a modified sesamord-bone, which helps it to hold bamboo while 

eating. 

Panda had been favorite people animal because this species are cute like a baby. The panda 

also usually illustrated reclining peacefully eating bamboo, so that increased their image as a 

sweet and peaceful animal.

MY SPHYNX CAT

My Sphynx cat is the only pet I have. He has a little hair but is not totally

hairless as he has a peach fuzz over much of his body. His coat is often a

warm chamois. My Sphynx has a normal cat proportion.

I like his tail although my mom say that it is like a rats tail. I love his usual

color varieties including, tortoiseshell, chocolate, black, blue, lilac, chocolate

etc. He is really an amazing cat. Believe it or not, he is very intelligent cat.

He can respond my voice commands.

He is really funny as well as my friends get a joke. I love him so much as I

love my mother.

(Elephants)

The African Elephant is described as the Loxodonta africana of Africa. They

are very large, grey, four-legged herbivorous mammals. They have almost

hairless skin, a distinctive long, flexible, prehensile trunk. Its upper incisors

form long curved tusks of ivory. African elephants have large fan-shaped

ears and two “fingers” at the tip of its trunk, compared to only one in the

Asian species. Furthermore, the Indian Elephant is described as Elephas

maximus of south-central Asia. The ears of Indian elephants are significantly

smaller than African elephants.

Elephants are herbivores and eat all types of vegetation such as grasses,

leaves, fruits, and bark. The facts tell that despite the size of ears the

elephant’s hearing is poor, because elephants ears are used to aid

ventilation. One of the softest parts of their body is at the back of the ears,

which is called the knuckle. In a zoo, elephant trainers, called Mahouts, use

their feet to steer or give commands to the animal via the knuckle at the

back of the ears. 

Some other facts about the elephants are : The elephant is the largest of all

land mammals; Life Span - elephants can live for up to 70 years; Elephants

normally walk about 4 mph; Elephants are able to swim for long distances;

Elephants spend about 16 hours a day eating; They consume as much as

495 pounds of food per day; They live in tight social units led by an older

matriarch; Males leave the herd between the ages of 12 and 15; Their tusks

are of ivory and are actually enormously enlarged incisors; The elephant's

eyes are small and its eyesight is poor, They have the largest brains in the

animal kingdom.

of Lion

lion is One of Africa's Big Five, the lion is a carnivore (meat eater) and a hunter. It uses its powerful forelegs

to grab or slap down large prey that would otherwise outrun it. The jaws are short and strong with long

canine teeth that are used to quickly kill the prey, either by biting the neck and strangling or by biting the

nose and suffocating. The tongue's upper surface has small bumps on it which enables the lion to hold on

to meat while eating and to remove parasites when grooming.

Its legs are short with very powerful muscles enabling it to sprint and bring down large prey. The ability to

retract its claws helps in protecting them so they maintain their sharpness.

Male lions are 20 to 35% larger than the females and 50% heavier. The male's chief role is to protect the

pride's territory and females from other males. Size is therefore an advantage though it increases the

male's need for food. Only males grow a mane. It causes him to look bigger without increasing his weight or

need for food. It also protects him from bites and scratches should he have to fight another male.

Each lion has, what are called, "whisker spots". The pattern formed by this top row of whiskers differs in

every lion and remains the same throughout its lifetime. Field researchers often use this unique pattern to

identify specific animals.

Dion My Pet is a Hamster

I have a hamster. It is small and cute. I give him a name, Dion. I bought him

last month when I visited Jogjakarta. I really love him. Dion has 3 different

colours, white, orange and black. His eyes and ears are small. He always

squeaks in the time I come close to his cage. Every morning I feed him. Dion

likes to eat some grass and leaves. I takes the grass from the field near my

house. Dion looks happy to eat it.

have different morphology according to their food and their habitat. Some of them

"Elephant"

An elephant is the largest and strongest of all animals. It is a strange looking

animal which it has thick legs, huge sides and backs, large hanging ears, a

small tail, little eyes, long white tusks and above all, elephant has a long nose,

the trunk. An elephant is commonly seen in a zoo, it has hard found in it

natural habitat.

The trunk is the elephant's peculiar feature. This trunk has various usages.

The elephant draws up water by its trunk and can squirt the water all over its

body like a shower bath. The elephant's trunk also lift leaves and put them

into its mouth. In fact, the trunk serves the elephant as long arm and hand. An

elephant looks very clumsy and heavy and yet an elephant can move very

quickly.

The elephant is very intelligent animal. Its intelligence combined with its

great strength makes an elephant a very useful servant to man. Elephant can

be trained to serve in various ways such as carry heavy loads, hunt for tigers

and even fight. An elephant is really a smart animal.

"What is a Tornado?"

Tornadoes are known as one of the most damaging disasters. What is

the description of tornadoes? A tornado is a very powerful column of

winds which spirals around a center of low atmospheric pressure. A

tornado will look like a large black funnel which hangs down from a

storm cloud.

The name "tornado" derives from the Latin "tonare". It means "to

thunder." While the Spanish developed the word into "tornear" which

means "to turn or twist". This is why a tornado is sometimes called

twister or cyclone.

The winds inside a twister can spin around at speeds up to 500 miles

an hour, but it usually travels at roughly 300 miles an hour. This speed

twisting makes a tornado the most dangerous storm.

The average tornado has a diameter of about 200 to 300 yards. The

smaller tornadoes are known as satellite tornadoes. These small

offspring, about 50 yards across, can be very fierce and do lots of

damage.

The forming of a tornado can be very quick. Sometimes it can form in a

minute or less. A tornado can travel across the ground at high speeds,

then it can suddenly vanish. Most tornadoes last less than twenty

minutes and travel less than 15 miles. However, the super storms

sometimes travel over 100 miles before they are exhausted.

The Camel

The camel is a large, strong desert animal. Camels can travel great distances

across hot, dry deserts with little food or water. They walk easily on soft sand

and carry people and heavy hump. The hump is a large lump of fat providing

energy if food is hard to find.

There are two chief kinds of camels: (1) the Arabian camel also loads to

places that have no roads. Camels also serve the people of the desert in

many other ways. The camel carries its own built-in food supply on its back

in the form of a called dromedary, which has one hump, and (2) Bactrian

camel, which has two humps.

The Red Bird Of Paradise

An Indonesian endemic, the Red Bird of Paradise is distributed to lowland rainforests of Waigeo 

and Batanta islands of West Papua. This species shares its home with another bird of paradise, 

the Wilson's Bird of Paradise. Hybridisation between these two species are expected but not 

recorded yet.

The Red Bird of Paradise, Paradisaea rubra is a large, up to 33cm long, brown and yellow bird of 

paradise with a dark brown iris, grey legs and yellow bill. The male has an emerald green face, a 

pair of elongated black corkscrew-shaped tail wires, dark green feather pompoms above each 

eye and a train of glossy crimson red plumes with whitish tips at either side of the breast.

The male measures up to 72 cm long, including the ornamental red plumes that require at least 

six years to fully attain. The female resembles the male but is smaller in size, with a dark brown 

face   and   has   no   ornamental   red   plumes.   The   diet   consists  mainly   of   fruits,   berries   and 

arthropods.

What Is Thunder and Lightning?

Lightning is a sudden, violent flash of electricity between a cloud and the

ground, or from cloud to cloud. A lightning fl ash, or bolt, can be several

miles long. It is so hot, with an average temperature of 34,000° Centigrade,

that the air around it suddenly expands with a loud blast. This is the thunder

we hear.

Lightning occurs in hot, wet storms. Moist air is driven up to a great height. It

forms a type of cloud called cumulonimbus. When the cloud rises high

enough, the moisture freezes and ice crystals and snowfl akes are formed.

These begin to fall, turning to rain on the way down. This rain meets more

moist air rising, and it is the friction between them which produces static

electricity. When a cloud is fully charged with this electricity, it discharges it

as a lightning flash.

DOLPHINS

Dolphins are sea mammals. They are members of Delphinidae family. They

have to breathe air or they will die. Dolphins can hold their breath for six

minutes. 

   Dolphins have smooth skin. Only baby dolphins are born with a few bristly

hairs on their snouts. Their hair soon fall out. They have big tail and the fin

on the top of their backs keep the dolphin from rolling over. The female

dolphins have a thick layer of fat under their skin to keep the warm when

they dive very deep. The dolphin's front fins are called flippers. They use

them to turn left and right. Dolphins grow from 2 to 3 meters long and

weight up to 75 kilograms. 

   Dolphins hunt together in a group. A group of dolphins is called a pod. They

eat fish, shrimps, and small squids. They live in salt water oceans. When

dolphins fear or see a ship close by they go near and follow it from distance,

dolphins can leap out of the water and do somersaults.Sometimes they

invent their own tricks and stunts after watching other dolphins perform.

    Dolphins are very friendly to people and have never harmed anyone. They

are very playful animals.

Kangaroo

A kangaroo is an animal found only in Australia, although it has a

smaller relative, called a wallaby, which lives on the Australian

island of Tasmania and also in New Guinea.

Kangaroos eat grass and plants. They have short front legs, but

very long, and very strong back legs and a tail. These are used

for sitting up and for jumping. Kangaroos have been known to

make forward jumps of over eight metres, and leap across fences

more than three metres high. They can also run at speeds of over

45 kilometres per hour.

The largest kangaroos are the Great Grey Kangaroo and the Red

Kangaroo. Adult grow to a length of 1.60 metres and weigh over

90 kilos.

Kangaroos are marsupials. This means that the female kangaroo

has an external pouch on the front of her body. A baby kangaroo

is very tiny when it is born, and it crawls at once into this pouch

where it spends its first five months of life

Butterflies

Butterflies are insects belonging to the order Lepidoptera or

“winged insect scales”. The butterfly can be found in the tropics.

Butterflies breathe with trachea. Butterfly undergo complete

metamorphosis is as an egg, caterpillar, chrysalis until butterfly.

Caterpillars eat the leaves. Whereas a butterfly, it suck honey

contained in the flower using the proboscis. Proboscis is a long

tongue used to drink water or suck the fluid of interest. Butterflies

have external skeleton on the outer surface of their bodies. The

framework consists of the external hard disk connected to the soft

tissues that resemble armor. Hard material is called "chitin".

Butterflies have unique colors on the wings and we can see

when the butterfly was sucking nectar while upholding its wings.

Platypus

Many people call platypus duckbill because this animal has a bill

like duckbill. Platypus is a native Tasmania and southern and

eastern Australia.

Platypus has a flat tail and webbed feet. Its body length is 30 to

45cm and covered with a thick, and woolly layer of fur. Its bill is

detecting prey and stirring up mud. Platypus' eyes and head are

small. It has no ears but has ability to sense sound and light.

Platypus lives in streams, rivers, and lakes. Female platypus

usually dig burrows in the streams or river banks. The burrows are

blocked with soil to protect it from intruders and flooding. In the

other hand, male platypus does not need any burrow to stay.

Hotels

           People sometimes need hotels if they travel far from homes. They sometimes need hotels when they arrive in cities late at night and they do not have any relatives there.

           Hotels are places that provide lodging and usually meals and various personal services for the public. A good hotel provides many comforts and conveniences. Travel is usually safe and pleasant.

           Hotels with hundreds of rooms are common. People can find the advertisements of the hotels in newspapers, brochures, the internet, and magazines. Downtown hotels survive and prosper because of two important factors. First,business travellers wish to stay close to the offices or industrial plants they plan to visit. Second, the location of the airport is close to the hotels.

           As the pace of jet travel grows, hotels spring up near airports. Some travellers stay at the airport inns when their flights are delayed. To save time, business executives often select airport hotels for meetings or conferences. Once the plane lands, the hotel is only minutes away.

Jellyfish

Jellyfish are not really fish. They are invertebrate animals.

This means that unlike fish or peopple, they have no backbones.

In fact, they have no bones at all.

Jellyfish have stomachs and mouths, but no heads. They have

nervous systems for sensing the world around them, but no

brains. They are made almost entirely of water, which is why you

can look through them.

Some jellyfish can glow in darkness by making their own light.

The light is made by a chemical reaction inside the jellyfish.

Scientists believe jellyfish glow for several reasons. For example,

they may glow to scare away predators or to attract animals they

like to eat.

Most jellyfish live in salt water, apart from a few types that

live in fresh water. Jellyfish are found in oceans and seas all over

the world. They live in war, tropical seas and in icy waters near

the North and South poles.
