An historical epitome of Britishhistory, apparently in the autograph ofThomas Lyte (i568?-i638), of Lytescary,CO. Somerset, written to accompany hispedigree tracing the descent of James I fromBrutus, now known only from Lyte's pen-and-ink version (Add. MS. 48343). Anilluminated version ofthe pedigree, presentedto James I on 12 July 1610, is not apparentlyextant. The volume also contains one leaf ofan emblem book, an account of the House ofStuart, entitled 'The Fate of British Majesty',written after 1714 (death of Queen Anne),and printed extracts. Add.
