like Elizabeth the wife of Zechariah).2. the current wife doesn't want to have more kids, but the husband does

3. the current wife's life or health would be in danger if she had more kids, but the

husband wants more wives

4. the husband wants as many kids as possible because he wants to have a large family

5. there is an abundance of widows in the society (for example, after a war when many

married men are killed).

6. there is an abundance of unmarried women in the society (for example, after a war

when many unmarried men are killed or in a bad economy when many young

men can't afford to get married).

7. there are many poor women in the society, who would want to be supported bywealthy men

8. there are many orphans in the society who have reached the age of consent
