While writing your stories, remember:

Right away, you should tell when and where the story is happening.

Decide:

• The weather

o Sunny, warm, hot, cold, chilly, rainy, snowy, windy, etc.

• The time of year/season

o Spring, summer, fall/autumn, winter

• The time of day

o Morning, afternoon, evening, night

• The place/location

o Pick from the list you made above.

Be descriptive when you begin your story!

(Example: One hot and sunny summer afternoon, Peter and Lucy were building sandcastles at the beach. Sweat was pouring down their backs. All of a sudden…)
