Massasoit Community College

On-Campus DNA ResearchAs a member of the Genomics Research Team at Massasoit Community College, you can be a part of the Genomics Education Partnership (GEP) at the Washington University in St. Louis—one of only two community college teams select-ed to participate in the 100-institution partner-ship. Students in the GEP network analyze and annotate DNA sequences from various species of Drosophila (fruit fly), using an online platform to receive projects and send back their work.

You’ll enjoy the benefits of an on-campus internship, including flexibility in for students whose work/life schedules make it challenging for them to intern off campus.

Framingham State University

Entrepreneur Innovation Center

Develop your leadership potential by working with local entrepreneurs to plan and launch new businesses at the Entrepreneur Innovation Center at Framingham State University. Paid and unpaid internships at the center can qualify for course credits and are open to sophomores, juniors and seniors interested in entrepreneurial experience.

UMass Boston

National Park Service’s Science Internship Program

Lovers of nature develop skills in conservation, natural resource stewardship and science through UMass Boston’s Science Internship Program. During the internship, students have a mentor from the National Park Service and are em-bedded within an NPS field program or office. Internships are available at two national park sites, the Cape Cod National Seashore and Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area.

Community Colleges“Learn and Earn”Bunker Hill Community CollegeGain hands-on career experience in some of Greater Boston’s most prestigious corporations, including Bank of America, Raytheon, and Vertex Pharmaceuticals, through BHCC’s “Learn and Earn” program. Qualified BHCC students intern 16-30 hours per week at $15/hour and earn credits toward their major, while receiving intensive mentoring and support for their career goals.

Tiered Community Mentoring ProgramRoxbury Community CollegeWork with an attorney mentor for a year-long exploration of careers in law. RCC is the only undergraduate college in the state invited to participate in the Massachusetts Bar Association’s award-winning Tiered Community Mentoring Program, which matches students from RCC, New Mission High School and from Suffolk and Northeastern Law Schools with mentors.

State UniversitiesBerkshire Hills Internship Program (B-HIP)Massachusetts College of Liberal ArtsFollow your love of arts and culture in MCLA’s Berkshire Hills Internship Program, gaining intensive arts management experience at many cultural venues throughout Berkshire county, while also participating in classes taught by arts administration faculty.

Cooperative Education ProgramMassachusetts Maritime AcademyWhile sea-going majors do their internships at sea, shore-side majors also gain hands-on experience through Mass Maritime’s co-op education program. University of MassachusettsCo-op Scholars ProgramUMass LowellBe rewarded for strong academic performance with a paid co-op through UMass Lowell’s Co-op Scholars Program. Incoming freshmen who qualify for Dean’s scholarships or higher, and who fulfill GPA requirements during their first year, may work in an on-campus research or enterprise environment, or in off-campus community service.

MassBay Community College

Speed up your paramedic training by completing a field internship in a high-volume area with EMSA—Emergency Medical Services Authority in Oklahoma. Students from MassBay’s Paramedicine program complete their requisite number of patient contacts in an abbreviated amount of time in Tulsa and are exposed to a wide range of patient populations and pre-hospital experiences.

Greenfield Community College

Students studying renewable energy and energy efficiency at GCC don’t have to travel far to intern at Northeast Sustainable Energy Association in Greenfield, MA.
