Chapter SchemeChapter.1

Statement of the problemThe prices gas cylinders have increased and

we are not able to afford the increasing price of the gas cylinder. So, I have chosen

to buy a microwave that consumes less electricity. Therefore, I want to buy a good

company microwave with less cost.

Page 3: Real Life Experience

Objective To gain knowledge about the following aspects:

To learn how the microwave was invented and what was is its origin.

To learn the mechanism and the working of a microwave.

To know how many people use microwave instead of a gas stove.

Page 4: Real Life Experience

To learn about diseases are caused by over-usage of microwave. To learn

about the consumption of electricity of a microwave.

To learn how much money is saved by using microwave instead of using a gas

stove. To learn how many people use the different companies of microwave

among the four that I am looking at.

Page 5: Real Life Experience

Introduction This planet Earth was started with a big bang.

Everything used by the people was natural. In the beginning the man didn’t know what to use or what to do when he faced problems. People then did the works physically. They never stressed their minds to work. For example, if they were hungry or wanted to

travel a huge mile to reach their designation; they simply walked where they had to move or go. If they were hungry they simply went in search of food and

sometimes followed the process of agriculture to feed themselves.

Page 6: Real Life Experience

Aren’t these methods very lengthy and time consuming? Yes, of course they are. They are very

straining and tired giving processes. After a billion and trillions of years after the Earth was formed, there is a lot of changes and lot of differences. Man has become

very busy and spends most of his time in searching new methods for making the things and works easier and

quick. He wants the works to be completed within fractions of seconds without body stress. Nowadays,

man is straining his mind instead of body. Most of the scientists and biologists spend their time in searching new methods or inventing things that makes the work

faster and easier. This is why the people are being lazier and lazier day by day.

Page 7: Real Life Experience

Nowadays, unexplainable diseases have come into play. Even though the diseases are very severe, the man is finds a vaccine to cure it in seconds. But these vaccines may cause side

effects. Again to cure these side effects man finds another vaccine.

Page 8: Real Life Experience

If you have noticed it life span of the people has become down due to these modern

inventions. This age has become ‘A Modern age with Modern Diseases!!!’

One such invention is the ‘Microwave’. Even it causes diseases and side effects. This

machine is usually referred as ‘Slow Poisoning’ which means the poison that

reacts very slowly but efficiently.

Page 9: Real Life Experience

Microwave has many uses. These uses are the indication for the ‘DEATH and DISEASES’. Microwave is used in many places. There are

even some place where the microwave is acting as the heart of the work. Without this machine the work cannot be completed. Its

one main advantage is that, it cooks food evenly and efficiently without making it messy and burnt. This is the feature for

which many people are using it for.

Page 10: Real Life Experience

The idea of the microwave came when the scientist was working on radar of a device. It

produced a lot of heat that melted the caramel chocolate kept aside. So, this idea was revised and used in microwave to cook food. This story

was about the past of mechanism of the microwave. But using this idea, mechanics have put latest and revised features in this machine

and further many companies for profit started to produce this machine.

Page 11: Real Life Experience

There is a lot of competition in the market for this machine. I have decided to buy a

microwave for baking even though I know that it is going to harm my health. But I even

decided to use it in a limited quantity. As it is obvious that ‘TOO MUCH IS TOO BAD’.

Isn’t it really very magical that a device can produce heat? Isn’t it very difficult

to believe it? But it is the time to move on with modernity and believe unbelievable facts.

Page 12: Real Life Experience

So, let us learn about this wonderful gadget and how works and even estimate that which is the best

company of microwave in today’s RLE report on the topic ‘MICROWAVE

OVEN’.

Methodology

I began my project by starting with the Secondary Data Approval.. After struggling for many a times I got my

Secondary Data approved. I was not much happy because I had many tasks to complete after taking this approval. After

a great gap of time sir explained us how to prepare the questionnaire for the relevant topic. After the explanation

we began to prepare the questionnaire and again in the process to take approval for the questionnaire. After a great struggle for many times a I got my questionnaire

approved. Next step of difficulty was the SURVEY.

Page 14: Real Life Experience

In the scorching sun I moved from house to house in search of houses that used the

microwave. Many didn’t use microwave and at that moment I had move to the next house. But I found 25 houses who were

kind and helped me a lot in completing my survey. I surveyed many colonies in Ballari like: Ghandi Nagar, Basaveshwara Nagar, Nehru Colony, Parvathi Nagar,Siddartha

Colony and etc. After a great struggle I am doing my report on the scheduled date.

Page 15: Real Life Experience

LimitationsTaking approval for secondary data task was quite difficult. To begin this step I had study about the topic thoroughly .We had sacrifice our some hours of Sundays and holidays by coming to

school and taking the approval. It was quite difficult for me to take approval for the secondary

data. I had to be through with my topic from the tip to tip. In the survey I faced many problems people were not willing to answer to my queries. They said come in the morning. If I went

in the morning they asked to come in the afternoon. If I went in the afternoon, they asked me to come in evenings.

Many people didn’t use microwaves. Even if I found some people using microwaves they weren’t willing to answer to my questions. Whenever I went they just closed the door saying

‘No, we don’t wasn’t to buy it’.

Page 16: Real Life Experience

As if I was a salesgirl. I many people not answering to my

queries but I found some people who answered to me so kindly and helped to

complete my survey successfully with good intention.

It was good to get comets and move on. After a great struggle I and here to do

the report.

Page 17: Real Life Experience

A microwave oven is shortened and written as microwave. It is a kitchen

appliance that heats the food with the help of electromagnetic radiation.

Electromagnetic energy is a term used to describe all the different kinds of energies released into space by stars

such as the Sun.

Page 18: Real Life Experience

They are also useful for quick heating of or slowly prepared cooking items, such as hot butter, fats, and chocolate. Unlike conventional ovens, microwave ovens

usually do not directly brown or caramelize food, since they rarely attain the necessary

temperatures to produce Maillard reactions. Maillard reactions mean a

chemical reaction between amino acids and reducing sugars that gives browned foods their desirable flavor.

Page 19: Real Life Experience

Cavity magnetronIt was with the invention of the cavity

magnetron that the production of electromagnetic wavesof a small enough wavelength (microwaves)

became possible. The magnetron was originally a crucial component in the

development of short wavelength radar during World War II.

Page 20: Real Life Experience

Uses Microwave ovens are generally used for time efficiency, in both commercial applications, such as restaurants, in the office and

at 18

home, rather than for cooking quality, although some modern recipes using microwave ovens are better than the recipes

using traditional ovens and stoves. Professional chefs generally find microwave ovens to be of limited usefulness because

browning, caramelisation, and other flavor-enhancing reactions cannot occur due to the temperature range.

Page 21: Real Life Experience

On the other hand, people who want to cook fast, use microwave ovens to prepare food or to reheat

frozen/stored food in only a few minutes. Microwave ovens can also be used to defrost items

that will later be cooked by traditional methods, reducing the time it takes to defrost foods naturally. Microwave ovens are also useful for the ease with

which they can perform some traditionally cumbersome kitchen tasks, such as softening butter

or melting chocolate, warming milk to set curds, heating garlic pods so they can be peeled easily etc.

Page 22: Real Life Experience

Effects on healthExposure to microwave

Radiation can produce cataracts by this mechanism, because the microwave heating denatures proteins in the crystalline lens of the eye

(in the same way that heat turns egg whites white and opaque). The lens and cornea of the eye are especially vulnerable because they

contain no vessels that can carry away heat. Exposure to heavy doses of microwave radiation (as from an oven that has been tampered with to allow operation even with the door open) can produce heat damage in other tissues as well, up to and including serious burns that may not

be immediately evident because of the tendency for microwaves to heat deeper tissues with higher moisture content.

Page 23: Real Life Experience

Don’tsIt is not safe to heat food in plastic bags, brown paper bags, on paper towel, paper napkins or a colored paper plate. All of these items can emit

chemicals that can migrate into food.Microwaves provide a quick and convenient cooking option however food is only safe to eat if the food

container used is designed specifically for heat. Consumers should always use safe microwave

reheating information to ensure proper internal food temperatures to prevent “cold spots” in your food

which are a haven for harmful bacteria.

Page 24: Real Life Experience

If the empty container is cool it is microwave safe; if it is slightly warm only use this container

for reheating. If the container is hot it is not microwave safe and should not be used in the

microwave.Be sure to remove food stored in take-out

containers, plastic cold-storage containers or on a polystyrene tray and transfer to a microwave

safe container before reheating or cooking. Food packaging containers are not safe for use in a

microwave as they were not designed for exposure to heat

Chapter 3Finding.1 Most of people prefer LG microwave.

Many people said that LG company microwave was the best. They even voted for this company and advised me to buy this. They believed that this

company microwave consumed less amount of electricity which was affordable by them. They even said that the features in the microwave were good and easy to operate by anyone at their house. They even added that the cost or price of microwave was also less that was affordable by them. They even suggested me to buy this microwave as it was small in size and got fitted in any small places. LG Company provided them good services. They said that they never needed to restore their microwave for many years. The food is cooked very fast

in the LG microwave. The LG Company gave them a home delivery if ordered online which saved their money for transport. It is very easy to operate the LG microwave by anyone in the house. They never felt difficult to operate it at any time. This microwave never shocked them at any time. It is safe to use and non-

compromising too.So, many suggested me to buy a LG microwave.

Page 36: Real Life Experience

Finding.2 Many used conventional microwave

Many of the people said that convectional microwave cooked their food evenly and made it crispy to have. They said that the

convectional microwave oven used a heating element and a fan to move hot air around the oven which is equivalent to a regular oven but a bit more efficient because the hot air helps to heat up all exposed parts of

the food and they got a more uniform heat. They could easily baked cakes, fry crispy chips and snack in their microwave without any problem safely. They insisted that buying and

convectional microwave would save a lot of money as it can bake, cook and boil food items. The conventional microwave is good for the people who always use it frequently. But it is also important to prepare crispy food items. Even Indian can be cooked in this microwave. It takes less

time but it cooked the food evenly. So, many of them asked me to buy the conventional type of microwave

where I can cook, bake and boil.

Page 37: Real Life Experience

Finding3 Majority of the people voted for 50%-70% for the working of microwave.

Many people voted for 50%-70% because they are not convinced with the work of their microwave as they don’t use it more. Many people

go for an optional choice of cooking. It is using gas stove instead of a microwave. Many people believe that microwave harms your health and causes many diseases. Having a microwave they still keep it aside instead of using it. Some people think that microwave consumes more electricity and they go under loss and use a gas stove instead. Some people buy a

microwave to bake and cook snack items. But they don’t cook other food items which forces them to rate 50%-70%. The microwaves usually

benefit the cake bakers and chips makers as they use it always. By using the machine frequently they don’t get damaged quickly. So, they cake

baker use it a lot and rate it as 100%. So, most of the people rate 50-70% for the working of the microwave oven. Therefore they asked me to buy a microwave if it really helps me and even suggested me not to overuse it.

Page 38: Real Life Experience

Finding.4 Most of the felt that automatic off was the best feature in their microwave.

Many felt that automatic off was the best feature in their microwave because they stated that their food was safely cooked even after keeping the microwave ‘on’ for more time. The microwave gets

switched off automatically that benefits the user not to stay in front of the microwave and look after it till it is off. Busy women or the people no need to stay at the house to check whether the food is cooked or

no.Automatic off prevents the food from getting burnt or over cooked. In

today’s generation people prefer easy methods of finishing. So, automatic off is one of the feature in the microwave which makes the works fast. If timer is set the food comes out cooked evenly where the

user no needs to guide it also. So, many of them prefer microwaves having automatic off feature and even suggested me to buy this

microwave.

Page 39: Real Life Experience

Finding5.Most of people prefer to cook Indian foods (roti) on stove not in microwave. Many people are unaware that Indian foods like roti can be cooked in microwave. There is a feature in microwave that allows us to cook Indian food on microwave. It cooks the chapatti or roti evenly and thoroughly. But many people don’t know about it and are not familiar with it also. Instead they prefer the traditional methods and long methods. Some people think that rotis made in microwave will not taste good and crisp like rotis done on the stove. They feel that the rotis on the stove give them a good and bulged roti to have But people can prefer to cook or roast rotis in microwave as the microwave produces raditions that makes the food completely without leaving any space uncooked. The heat produce on the normal tava on a gas stove is exactly produced in the microwave. The heat is also even and oil also can be adden in the beginning before roasting the roti. But sometimes if the microwave is not turned off at a right time the rotis can burn. But automatic off prevents it. Then there is no matter of cooking rotis on gas stove. So, I suggest people to prepare chapattis and rotis on microwave which gives a good roast.

Chapter 5Financial Analysis

Part ATo buy a microwave I will have to invest a lot of money. The

expenses are as follows:I have to visit a showroom and I have to hire a dealer that costs

me Rs. 200-300.As I wish to buy microwave pricing Rs.4500-5500, I will have to

invest money one the microwave to buy it.There are many accessories to buy with the microwave. I’ll have

to buy a stand for microwave that keeps microwave safe. This stand costs around Rs.400-500. As I cannot use normal vessels

in microwave, I’ll have to buy a set of Microwave proof utensils.

Page 41: Real Life Experience

If I’ll have to buy a microwave to bake cakes then I’ll have to buy a tray and moulds to

bake cakes. These together cost me around Rs.1000-1500. After cooking the cooking

the as the food will be warm to hold. So, I’ll have to buy a heating element that makes keeps my hands safe without burning. It is

made with thick covers of cloth. It costs me Rs.900-1000. I’ll have to Nordic microwave

slide worth Rs.600-700.

Page 42: Real Life Experience

After the one year warranty I’ll have to repair the microwave it damaged. Then

I’ll have to pay the laborer around Rs.300. If any part is damaged I’ll have to invest more than Rs.2000 as every

part in the microwave is costly. After buying the microwave from the

showroom I’ll have to pay for the transport around Rs. 100.

Page 43: Real Life Experience

Part BThe total investment of the microwave will come from my bank

savings. The total cost of the microwave is:Rs. 300 ----------- To hire a dealer

Rs. 5500-----------To buy a microwaveRs. 500--------------To buy a microwave stand

Rs.1500--------------To buy micro-proof utensils and a baking trayRs.600---------------To buy a heating element

Rs.700---------------Nordic slideRs.300--------------- labour

Rs.2000 (Optional) -------------- Damaged part

I’ll have to invest Rs.6,420 to buy a microwave. I decided to get this money from my bank savings.

Page 44: Real Life Experience

ConclusionAfter a long journey of this project I would like to conclude that LG

is the more preferable company for me to buy it. Its cost is less and also affordable. But microwave really harm our health and is a

slow poisoning machine, although it cooks fast it even kills fast. So, it will be better to use it in a limited quantity I have decided not to overuse the microwave as it is a threat for the health but

use it only to bake and boil food. I hope the people’s suggestions help me buy a good company microwave as such.
