Listen and Imitate Tonal languages, like Chinese and Cantonese,

may be quite challenging.

oDifferent tones give different meanings

In this case, listening and imitating the

pronunciation is the appropriate method,

which is also best applied for languages that

have silent letters like French.

Grammar I do not recommend to start language learning from grammar unless you really want to read

about it.

o I am not a grammar-oriented learner :D

If it is one of your motivation, then go for it.

Grammar serves as the foundation to build a

good sentence, however, it lacks of cultural

essence of the language.

Alphabets Almost all language classes always begin the

course with learning alphabets.

Learning languages that use the same

alphabets save you time and effort.

Several examples of alphabets: ABC, ㄅㄆㄇㄈ,

ㅂㅈㄷㄱ

Immersion Immerse yourself in the language as much as possible.

You can even create the atmosphere of a particular place where the language is spoken.

For example, when you are learning French, you may want to frequently listen to French songs,

watch French movies or read about French

culture.

Dare to Make Mistakes Everyone learns from mistakes.

I once created a funny situation because of

making mistake in Spanish accidentally .

Instead of saying “estoy cansado” (I am tired),

I said “estoy casado” (I am married)

You will remember your mistakes, so you will

not repeat the same mistakes anymore.
