Nothing less than three points will be enough for Bonnyrigg White Eagles as they set out

to notch their first win of the season when they host Rockdale City Suns on Saturday.

While it has be a difficult season so far for the White Eagles, Brian Brown’s team should not be taken lightly.

Rockdale made a miraculous escape against Manly last week to nab a 3-3 draw despite trailing by two goals with only ten minutes to play.

Player coach Paul Reid will demand an improved showing against a Bonnyrigg team fighting to move from the bottom of the table.

Sutherland Sharks have climbed off the bottom of the PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s competition ladder with a convincing 3-2 victory over Bonnyrigg White Eagles at Bonnyrigg Sports Centre on Saturday.

A brace from Jeremy Cox and a flicked header from Nathan Elasi was the difference as the Sharks proved triumphant in the battle of the competition cellar dwellers.

Bonnyrigg gave Sutherland a scare with goals to youngsters Hassan Jalloh and Luke Ivanovic, but it was the visitors who took all the points.

Manly United FC 3 - Rockdale City Suns 3 at Cromer Park

Two goals in the last five minutes from striker Jordan Figon rescued a point for Rockdale in a pulsating 3-3 PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s competition draw with Manly United on Sunday afternoon at Cromer Park.

The home side were shell shocked at the final whistle, shattered they had just thrown two points away.

It was a match filled with twists and turns as Harris Gaitatzis gave Rockdale an early lead before Manly raced away when Scott Balderson and Dejan Pandurevic hit the back of the net.

An own goal for Rockdale just added to their frustrations as they headed for what seemed like a demoralising defeat before Figon chipped in with his late game heroics.

Bonnyrigg picked up their first points of the season with a win over Blacktown City a week

ago but were unfortunate to face a Sutherland Sharks side in rampaging form in round 7, crashing to a 6-1 defeat at Bonnyrigg Sports Club last Saturday. Still, the White Eagles have an opportunity for immediate redemption in front of their own fans when they host Rockdale City Suns at home on Saturday afternoon. Both sides sit at the foot of the table; Bonnyrigg last and Rockdale third-to-last, but within reach of the top six should they manage a result away from home. Rockdale will fancy their chances, having taken all three points from their round 7 encounter with Manly United at Cromer Park, and having won this fixture 3-1 when these sides met in 2016.
