EMERGENCYCOMMUNICATIONPROCEDURES Intheeventofaseriousinjury,thecertifiedathletictrainers,athletictrainingstudents,coaches,andathleticadministratorsmustbepreparedtoactivateEmergencyMedicalServicestorequestmedicalassistance.Theprocedurewillvaryaccordingtothelocationoftheinjuredathleteandaccordingtothecommunicationsystembeingutilized.Pleaserefertoappendicesforspecificemergencyplanforeachsite.IntheeventofaseriousinjurythepreferredmethodformedicalassistanceistoactivateEMSbydialing911,eitherbycampusphonesorcellphone.CCSUCampuspolicewillrespondto911callsandaretrainedasfirstresponders.Anautomatedexternaldifibulator(AED),oxygen,andbasicfirstaidequipmentareavailablewhencampuspolicearrivesonscene.PublicAccessAEDsarelocatedinthefollowinglocationsintheeventofacardiacemergency:
