Guidelines for Posters being printed by theMedia Services Department RCSI2013 PRICES

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR POSTERThe RCSI Media Services Template is only a guide which you may adapt but otherwise you must keep to the guidelines below.

DO PLEASE INFORM US IF YOU HAVE MADE YOUR POSTER ON AN APPLE MAC COMPUTER Each poster needs to be a Maximum AO size (approx 1.2 by 0.9 Metres) on One single PowerPoint slide If your poster is not standard AO size you must inform us in advance as the printing machine will always default to AO size and this being the case you will be charged for an AO poster. Use the fonts Times or Arial (and Symbol font if appropriate)only DO NOT USE TIMES NEW ROMAN (Even in your graphs etc..) Use photos about 300 dpi as opposed to web images which are only 72 dpi Use a font size at least 16pt (if possible) Anything below 16pt can make it hard to read from a distance

DO NOT Do not use a dark background DO NOT USE TIMES NEW ROMAN (Use the fonts Times or Arial and Symbol font if appropriate) Do not use images and logos from the web.... (They print poorly even when they look great on screen.) Do not use a font size less than 16pt if you can help it (it makes it harder to read from a distance) but you can use a font size as big as you like that fits in the AO size Poster.

The cost per A0 poster when paying by RCSI budget code or RCSI Grant code is €30 (if no extra work has to be carried out on your poster) The cost per A0 poster when paying by cash or cheque is €40 inc vat (if no extra work has to be carried out on your poster) A Cardboard Poster Box is €5 extra

VAT is not charged when paying by RCSI budget code or RCSI Grant code. ALL OTHER POSTERS MUST BE PAID FOR ON COLLECTION BY CASH OR CHEQUE ONLY Sorry but we DO NOT accept Budget or Grant codes from any other instiution.

The usual turn around time is 2 full working days but this can increase at certain times of the year This is from the time we send it to our printer to the time it is ready for collection / delivery, (If there are no problems with your poster) You can supply your poster on CD, USB Memory Stick or you can E-mail it to this address ... mediaservices@rcsi.ie
