Why use a WatchWinder?
An automatic watch has amechanism that requiresregular motion to keep theinner spring constantlycharged, this motion isusually provided as it isworn. Once removed fromthe wrist the stored energywill not run indefinitely, thewatch will need to bemanually rewound and reseteventually.
Many automatic watcheshave additional features, or‘Complications’, – date/time/lunar phase/world timeetc. so the task of rewindingand recalibrating a watch if itruns down is best avoided.
Such watches areprecision instruments andthey actually benefit fromexercise – if left unwound forlong periods, internallubricants can be lost fromcritical areas which willeventually lead to excessivewear on components andsubsequent lack of accuracy.
Rapport Watch Windershave features designed tomimic the action of a watchbeing worn. The watch isheld at a precise angle whilebeing rotated and the windercan be set to runintermittently so that thewatch is always permanentlywound.

Perpetua or Optima?
The Perpetua class of watch winders is Rapport’smore traditional range of winders featuring a variety ofwooden cases in one, two or four watchconfigurations. The watch holders consist of a softvelveteen cushion which fit snugly into surface mountedcups.
The Optima series offers a wider range of styles andmaterial combinations with models offering singlewatch capacity up to multi-watch cabinets. Thewatches are held on a fully adjustable clip that has aleather covered soft pad and rubber grips and whichslot into cups inset into the body of the winder.
The MechanismThe winding motors and controls are the samethroughout both ranges and they offer modes ofoperation suitable for all automatic watches on themarket today. Some models in the Optima range offermore advanced options with LED displays to indicatefunctions in operation.

For the serious collector of prestige automatic watchesthe Paramount range provides practical functionality inan exquisite cabinet. The craftsman built cabinets arefinished in a Macassar wood veneer and the interior islined with a soft grey velveteen material.
Subtle interior lighting is provided to show off thewatches at their best.
The door is fitted with bevelled glass and is lockablefor added security. An internal, velveteen lined draweroffers static storage for watches on adjustable pads.
