SAD FACTS CONCERNING THE CITY’S WATER WOES

More than 50% of our city’s borewells and lakes have gone dry. Ground water has depleted by around 3 meters in just 3 years!

Shortage of ground water has caused loss in soil fertility. This affects the water cycle and the climate changes in urban cities.

Rainwater which falls on our roofs, flows directly into gutters or storm water drains, which connect into lakes and rivers. The government pumps that same water, filters it, and sells it back to the us

An average family spends around Rs.10,000 on water tankers every year to fulfill their water needs

Even though the government has made Rainwater Harvesting pits mandatory, incorporating the design is not feasible in existing urban scenario

WELL THEN….. HOW DO WE SAVE RAINWATER ?

OUR METHOD-1 : THE RAINY FILTER – DIRECTLY STORE RAINWATER

1000 Sft - 70,000 Lts

2000 Sft - 1,40,000 Lts

3000 Sft - 2,10,000 Lts

4000 Sft - 2,80,000 Lts

….. And so on

HOW MUCH

WATER YOU CAN

SAVE IN A YEAR ?

Roof Area Water Saved

The water saved by aroof area of 1000 Sftwill serve a family of 5members for about 100days in a year!

THAT’S OK, BUT….I’M NOT SURE IF I CAN BATHE WITH THE

WATER THAT FELL ON MY TERRACE !

RIGHT?...

FACTS ABOUT RAINWATER

Rainwater is one of the purest form of water with Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) levels lesser than 20 ppm – almost 2-3 times cleaner than the drinking water we buy from the Municipality, and almost 50 times cleaner than bore water!

Even after falling on our terraces, the recorded TDS of this water varies from 40 - 180 ppm ---- Still a lot cleaner than our municipal water!

Rainwater has zero Hardness, which helps prevent scaling on appliances – like washing machine, taps, geysers etc. – extending their longevity

Rainwater, due to its TDS levels, is almost like distilled water and can be actually directly used for car or invertor batteries

The city of Hyderabad gets an average annual rainfall of around 760mm, which means - if we can store the rainwater which falls on Hyderabad during the year, then theoretically, rainwater alone can sustain the water needs of the whole population of Hyderabad for 2 years!

NICE!....BUT I’VE HEARD THERE’S ANOTHER SYSTEM

FOR RAINWATER HARVESTING…..

DON’T WE NEED TO CONSTRUCT A PIT OR SOMETHING? MY FRIENDS DID SOMETHING

LIKE THAT….

SHORTCOMINGS OF THE TRADITIONAL PERCOLATION PIT

Low Efficiency. Intake capacity of capturing rainwater is low – 80% of the water flows over it. Water gets wasted.

High Maintenance. Filtration media needs to be removed and changed every 2-3 months

Obsolete Design. The technical design of the pit media was designed for a very general adaptation. We need site specific design

Only Alluvial Soil Friendly. Most of our city’s subterranean soil is Granitic. Hence, percolation to groundwater table is difficult.

Space Consuming. Our plots are small, cannot incorporate the pit space required

SO THEN…..IS THERE A BETTER WAY TO DO IT?

I MEAN…GROUND WATER IS THE REAL DEAL FOR THE FUTURE !

OUR METHOD-2 : THE INJECTION WELL –DIRECTLY CHARGE GROUNDWATER

High Efficiency - Due to Storage tank + bore with perforated pipe + near your existing borewell

Immediate Recharge of Groundwater table, and very low run-off of water due to specially made Groundwater run-off channels

Low Maintenance – Due to covered RCC Lid and open de-silting chamber

Space Saving – Only 4’-6” in Dia

Granitic Soil penetration

Site Specific Design

ADVANTAGES OF THE INJECTION WELL :

SEEMS FAIR…

BUT, HAVE WE DONE IT SOMEPLACE REALLY ?

HAS IT REALLY WORKED ?

WE HAVE DONE OVER 10,000 PROJECTS ALL OVER INDIA !

ACCOLADES & AWARDS
