Sub: Rationalisation of freight rates effective from 06.03.2012.

1. Sanction of the Central Government is hereby accorded to rationalise the freightrates. A copy of the revised freight rate tables is enclosed herewith.2. The sanction of the Central Government is also accorded for the following:

2.1 The intermediate Class 130~Astands abolished; in other words, the Class rate ofcommodities under Class130~Ais restored to Class-130.

3. Zonal Railways should ensure that requisite number of copies of the revisedFreight Rates Tables (Goods Tariff No.46, Part-II) are collectedfrom the General Secretary, IRCAby deputing staff.4. Steps should be taken to ensure that the staff fully understand the changes inthe method of charging in Freight Rates Table (Goods Tariff No.46, Part-II) and all otherrelated instructions and implement them correctly. Commercial Inspectors (CMls) andTraffic Inspectors of Accounts (TIAs) should be deputed to goods sheds/ stations/ sidingsetc. for ensuring correct implementation of the instructions and rationalization ofundercharges if any.

5. These instructions will come into force w.e.f. 06. 03.2012.6. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry ofRailways. ~\__,_ r .s-; _.~--~-~
