RESOLUTION TOWNSHIP OF FRANKLIN

AUTHORIZING A SHARED SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH THE GLOUCESTER COUNTY IMPROVEMENT AUTHORITY AND COUNTY OF

GLOUCESTER FOR THE OPERATION, MAINTENANCE AND USE OF A DEICER STORAGE FACILITY AND DEICER MATERIAL

R-40-2015

WHEREAS, THE Uniform Shared Services and Consolidation Act, N.J.S.A. 40A:65-1 et seq., authorizes governmental units to engage in shared service arrangement and Agreements; and

WHEREAS, the Township of Franklin requires the use of deicing products and materials and a corresponding storage facility in connection with the maintenance of its public roadways during the winter months; and

WHEREAS, the County of Gloucester and the Gloucester County improvement Authority have established Deicing Storage facilities and engaged in a Program to acquire deicing materials for the use of the County and Municipalities that wish to jointly engage in a cost saving program for such purposes; and

WHEREAS, the Township of Franklin hereby determines that the arrangement

with the County and the GCIA for such purposes; and NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Township

Committee of the Township of Franklin, County of Gloucester, State of New Jersey that the attached Shared Services Agreement by and between the Township of Franklin and the Gloucester County Improvement Authority and County of Gloucester is hereby approved.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this Resolution and a signed original of the Agreement be forwarded by the Clerk directly to the county of Gloucester.
