XOXO -Paulina Rosales

YOURABOUT

HOTEL: Most hotels have special rooms specifically for events like a quince, and charge per person. Normally, the price is a bit higher than other locations, but with great service, it’s probably worth it.Restaurant: Many restaurants have a reserved area para las fiestas, although it may be smaller than traditional choices they provide a comfortable space. However, restaurants do specialize in food, so you can expect an excellent dinner.Outdoor reception: Maybe you love nature, and dream of an outdoor quince. This is a unique way of celebrating your party, but keep in mind that this type of reception is likely to be more expensive and that you’ll have to deal with what Mother Nature may have in store for the weather that day.At home: A house party will probably be cheaper; you can count on family and friends to help. Decorations may not be the as fancy, but the menu for dinner is simple and practical.Banquet hall: Parties here are affordable and sensible, and the experienced staff here is more likely than anyone else to know how to make your day unforgettable. Halls are entirely dedicated to parties like these; it is probably the most common choice.

Remember girls; this is where you get to have

your PARTY! You have a wide range of choices from hotels, restaurants, and even banquet halls specialized for quinceañera-type events. This is a fun step to take! So, here are a few tips to remind you of what to expect from each venue:

IMPORTANT QUESTIONS…

How many people can your venue hold? Are there quinceañera packages

available?What packages do you offer?”

What are your restrictions with decorations, music, food, and drinks?

It’s finally time to decide where to hold your reception.

Now that you have the most important tips, its time to decide what type of place you would like for your quince that best matches your necessities and budget.

We know first hand that planning a quinceañera isn’t easy . There is so much to figure out like who’s gonna do your makeup? Where are you getting your dress? Is it in your budget? What about the ban-quet hall? Where are you getting the food from? And the list goes on and you are not done there. You need to figure out the order you need to start planning things. Like, you can’t order your dress one month before your quince. And you can’t start practicing for the vals 10 months before. It’s too early to even think about that.

That is why we have created the perfect graphic step by step to help you figure this all out. The big picture of your quince is here and is made so you won’t be lost. It will help you get organized and it will help relieve some stress.

This edition of Quinceañera Magazine is for all the girls that need help planning their quince. In this edition you will find everything you need to start planning like a pro.

Studies show that people who graduate from high school earn a lot more money over their life time than those who do not. I wouldn’t even think of not completing school in today’s society. You hardly have a chance of making it. Quitting school early is like throwing more than $200,000 down the drain. And that is just to start. Instead, I encourage you to keep going. The next seven years of your life will determine the quality of life for the rest of your life. (And perhaps, your children’s life too).

a Quinceañera celebration is no longer a luxury of the past. Current digital technology creates marvels

in the hands of a professional photographer!

A professional photographer is someone who is capable of capturing each spontaneous moment, that special look in your eyes, the laughter of your guests, that nervous expression etc. Every time you interview with photographers to check out their work, make sure you pay special attention to their sample photographs.

Keep in mind the budget you have put

aside and try not to go over it. Before

hiring your photographer take into

consideration all of the possible restrictions

the church and hall may have as far as

photography goes, make sure you discuss

these with the photographer you choose

before signing any sort of contract.

Observe their use of color and images. Do the truly capture the feelings that you want to capture in your pictures? Remember that in the end your photographs are the memories you will endure forever!!

Ask friends that have already celebrated their Quinceañeras to show you their photographers work so that you can have more options to compare. The perfect photographer is he who’s work speaks for itself and that should be the most important thing to keep in mind during your search!

Your religious ceremony is something very special, it is the time to thank God for all the gifts he has given you,

for your parents, for those who have shared all your happiness and have been able to guide you to be the girl

you are today!

It is the time to honor and to make a commitment to be a better person not only with yourself but also with those around you that sincerely love you.

You must decide what kind of ceremony you want performed. It can be a Mass of Thanks giving, or simply a prayer for your occasion. A family member, a pastor, a priest, or a preacher can direct this service.

Once you have decided on a date, visit your church and make sure the date is available and secure it. Donations for the ceremony vary. (Religious rehearsals are not charged).

IF for some reason your ceremony takes place outdoors; such as in a garden, you must plan accordingly and with plenty of time. Will you need to build an alter? Will you need to rent seating equipment for your guests? These ceremonies tend to be more expensive.

The latest trend is for quinceañeras to undertake their religious ceremony in their ballroom. This is very convenient and practical. Most of your guest will witness and be present for this beautiful ceremony and you can use your ballroom floral arrangements to create a church environment.

Requirements from the Catholic ChurchWe present the most common and usual requirements by most Catholic

Parishes. If you do not have all of them, contact your parish rectory immediately. They will educate you and provide you with information on how

to obtain them.• Christening/Baptism Certificate • First Communion Certificate • Confirmation

Certificate • Volunteering (Some parishes may require certain amount of volunteer hours)

The décor is the nicest visual at your party; it should be coordinated with your theme and color sche-me of choice. You do not have to have an exact match to your color, in fact using different shades of that color will be a nice compliment and even more elegant. If you will be using natural flowers make sure to order at least three months in advance. The height of your cen-terpieces should be in proportion with the size of your banquet fa-cility. If you will be using balloons make sure to hire a professional.
