BAPUJI RULE• “Bapuji: (noun) An honorific given to the late Mohandas Karamchand
Gandhi by (mostly) people of Indian origin. Literally translates to Dear Father “
• Bapuji Rule: A quizzing rule (twice in whole quiz) which works as follows:
• Direct Question to Team X who have no chance of answering it (a la no chance of fighting the British).
• Bapuji rule (satyagraha) = alternative to "pass" (i.e. violence).
• Passing would cost them that chance of answering on the bounce, without risk of negative.
• Invoke the Bapuji Rule. Question continues as it should (because non violence works slowly) but the next question will, no matter where the previous one was answered, be direct to Team X (like one of the RTCs).
• Therefore, non-violence will only give you opportunities, you must make the most of them yourself
SISTER RULE
• 1 bonus question (direct to nobody) in each QM‟s round
• Those teams that choose to go for it answer it in written for a +10/0.
• Only those that correctly answer it get a chance to answer a related question for +20/-20. (again written style)
• Lowest Scoring team in the previous round selects when to ask for this question (except 1st round in which it is at the end)

SISTER QUESTION
• One famous Monty Python sketch inverts the usual crime methodology to show gangs of old women attacking “defenceless, fit, young men”. It mirrors the bike gang violence with the victim youth actually wearing leather jackets and chains like typical bikers although it is the old women that drive the bikes. There are references to “used to be a nice neighbourhood until… Don‟t even dare going to the shops… they shove you off the pavement… 4 or 5 of them” and loafing, teasing women, vandalism, driving their bike‟s to loot stores etc. What name, reflecting the real world crime they parody was given to this old women‟s gangs. Or, what was the real world inspiration for the name?

Q11. YOU THINK HE‟D HAVE KNOWN BETTER THAN TO FALL IN LOVE
• X is chanting (rather flatly) the Bohemian Rhapsody for an American idol audition, yet the judges are praising him. His sad back story is maybe what moved them. He tells a tall tale where he got famous and subsequently became popular with the ladies, found his “the one”, before she ditched him, leaving him in charge of the baby. He wants to prove himself with this audition. Who is this audacious famous “singer”? (AUDIO REMOVED)

• (more knocking off stage) Who's there, in th' other devil's name? Faith, here's an equivocator that could swear in both the scales against either scale, who committed treason enough for God's sake, yet could not equivocate to heaven. O, come in, equivocator.

Q16. IN THE HEART OF THE OCEAN
• The USS Thresher was an American Nuclear submarine that sunk in the North Atlantic Ocean during deep-diving tests 220 miles east of Boston, on 10 April 1963.
• The USS Scorpion was another American Nuclear Submarine that was declared lost in the Atlantic on 5 June 1968.
• Although both these wrecks were examined (to an extent) by the bathyscaphes Trieste and Trieste II respectively, the US Navy wanted a secret mission (since the Cold war was ongoing) to collect data and photographs on the same, under the command of Commander Robert Ballard. What was the cover story used for this mission?

Q17.THEY ARE CRAZY
• This “literary” practice seems to have its origin in the string /riks/ which consists of two morphemes /rik/ or “king” and /s/ which was used as “nominative singular case”.
• The literary practice honours historical precedence. Indeed, it may be called as the Celtic variant of the Latin rex, whose stem is /reg/
• However, as is obvious from the obfuscating discourse above, this string was used only for royalty and nobility, such as chieftains and warlords, something that the aforementioned “literary” practice violates. What practice?

Q. SISTER
• X literally means “revelation / lifting of the veil” from its original Greek.
• Its general sense in Middle English was "insight, vision, hallucination”
• In Biblical accounts of revelations the manner of the revelation and its reception is generally described. According to the Book of Daniel, after a long period of fasting, Daniel is standing by a river when a heavenly being appears to him, and the revelation follows. The association of revelations with God‟s Kingdom lead to the modern sense of the word.
