QUESTION 2How effective is the combination of your main

product and ancillary texts?

TITLE

THROUGOUT THE PROCESS OF CREATING OUR FINAL

PRODUCT AND OUR ANCILLARY TEXTS, WE ENSURED THAT

EACH ONE HAD THE TITLE OF OUR FILM ON, JUST LIKE THE

MARKETING CAMPAIGN CREATED FOR ALL OF THE HARRY

POTTER FILMS WHICH I REASEARCHED, IN ORDER TO FIND

OUT MORE ABOUT THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THEIR

TRAILER AND THEIR ANCILLARY TEXTS. WE DECIDED TO USE

THE SAME TITLE WITH THE SAME FONT ON BOTH OUR

POSTER AND OUR TEASER TRAILER, HOWEVER WE DID NOT

USE THE SAME FONT ON OUR MAGAZINE COVER AS WE

FOLLOWED THE CONVENTIONS WHICH OFTEN MEANS THAT

A DIFFERENT, BOLDER FONT IS USED.

As you can see, the same title is used in each poster in order to create a recognisable brand which can be identified by the audience at a glance.

POSTER CONVENTIONS

From our research into poster conventions, we decided

that in order to follow the conventions, we should also

include specific elements such as the star rating system

from other newspapers and magazines. We also found that

using the title with the crown that we had created would

also ensure that we created a fluent and recognizable

campaign that links all of our products together.

BRAND IDENTITY

Most marketing campaigns include posters, a trailer and a magazine cover

which would be used by the film companies in order to identify their brand; this is

by using different themes and characters to make the film brand recognizable.

This is our final poster. We used the same title style in all of our products to make our brand recognisable. We wanted to portray the theme of our film and so chose to use a common street wall as a background, along with a skyline of London and our character wearing both common clothes and a royal coloured cloak to show the contrast and the element of patriotism within our film.

BRAND IDENTITY

This is our final magazine cover.

We chose to dress our character

once again in both common

everyday clothes along with a royal

coloured cloak to continue our

theme and make our character

recognizable. We also continued

the royal theme by not only using

the cloak, but also by using a royal

red background for our poster

image.

MAGAZINE CONVENTIONS

We researched common conventions for

magazine covers and found that similar to poster

conventions, the magazine cover often shows a

clear link to the film through elements such as

the main protagonist being the central feature.

We decided to follow this convention with our

magazine cover as you can see form the image.

We also found that using the same costume as is

worn in the film and the poster helped to produce

a consistent marketing campaign.

CONCLUSION

OVERALL I THINK THAT OUR CAMPAIGN IS

SUCCESSFUL AS IT SHOWS A CLEAR LINK

BETWEEN ALL PRODUCTS AND DISPLAYS THE

GENERAL IDEA OF THE SYNOPSIS OF OUR FILM

TO OUR AUDIENCE THROUGH CONVENTIONS.
