Queer Academy Participant Application

Queer Academy is a summer program designed for queer and ally youth leaders in the

Greater Hartford area. This program will provide a range of activities designed to

empower them as community leaders and social justice activists. Over the course of

seven weeks, participants will explore the intersections of their identities, histories and

social movements. Participants will meet with local community leaders and

organizations, and utilize their resources to create a research project and presentation of

their interest. Program graduates are invited to apply to the Youth Leadership Team and

the Ambassador Program, and go on to become active leaders in their schools and

communities.

● Queer Academy will take place Tuesday through Friday July 5, 2017 – August

18, 2017. Draguation, the closing ceremony, will take place on August 20th.

● Youth are expected to attend all days of Queer Academy.

● Applications are due no later than June 8, 2017.

● Youth who have been accepted to Queer Academy will be notified of their

acceptance no later than June 15, 2017.
