SLASSCOM Quality and Business Excellence Summit 2019 with the focus on the significance of enhancing quality across organizations through Quality Engineering and Business Excellence will take place :

On October 14, 2019 From 09:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m. At Shangri-La Colombo.

This year the theme of the Summit is ‘Accelerate End User Experience through Quality Engineering’. Organized by the SLASSCOM Quality Forum, the objective of the summit is to bring together the CXOs and quality practitioners to promote Sri Lanka as a destination for product engineering while focusing on driving the IT/BPM industries to the next wave of growth, developing enterprise capability with adoption of international standards of quality, security and governance.

The Summit will commence with three Key Speakers from the industry including two key note speeches in the morning session and the afternoon session will consist of two parallel track sessions focusing on Quality Engineering and Business Excellence.

The quality engineering track targets at Software Quality professionals, Business Analysts and Project Managers and the business excellence track is targeted at Process Managers, CXOs and Product Managers.

The Summit is expected to attract over 300 Engineers from the IT/BPM industry and needless to say, this experience presents a great opportunity for building relationships and networking in addition to acquiring invaluable knowledge on the topics tabled for discussion by industry experts. It’s an event not to be missed!

The Sri Lanka Association of Software and Services Companies (SLASSCOM) acts as

the catalyst of growth for the Sri Lankan IT and BPM industry by facilitating trade and business, propagation of education

and employment, encouragement of research and innovation, thereby supporting

the creation of a progressive national policy framework. SLASSCOM has a

membership of over 170 companies and these companies generate over 90% of the IT/BPM industry export revenue and

employment in Sri Lanka.

As an industry we have set an ambitious target as the vision for 2022.

Dan CuellarFounder, Appium

Dan Cuellar is the creator of the open source mobile automation framework Appium, and an ex-perienced software engineering and quality assurance manager. Previously, he headed the test organisation at Shazam in Lon-don and Zoosk in San Francis-

co, and worked as a software engineer on Microsoft Outlook for Mac, and other products in the Microsoft Office suite. He is an advocate of open source technol-ogies and technical software testing.

He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, with a minor in Music Technology, from the world-re-nowned School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.

Rainer helped high-tech, banking and telco clients to embrace digital technologies, while at Deutsche Telekom he built and led DT’s core product portfolio across 14 European markets, serving 90 million customers and 30 million households. Currently, as Group COO, Rainer is responsible for Dialog Axiata’s businesses, corporate strategy and M&A, driving the digital transformation of Sri Lanka’s leading telco, pay TV and digital services player into an analytics and data driven agile company. Passionate about technology, Rainer advises and invests in digital telco, analytics, fintech and blockchain compa-nies. He serves as Non-Executive Director at rain, South Africa’s digital mobile network operator. He holds a doctoral degree (Dr. rer. nat.) in Physics from the Univer-sity of Technology Munich and worked as a computation and neuroscience researcher at California Institute of Technology (Caltech) / USA.

Manoj KumarLead Technical Specialist & Evangelist, Applitools

Manoj is a Lead Technical Specialist and Evangelist at Applitools, a Selenium committer and a member of the project leadership committee.

He is an open-source enthusiast and has contributed to different libraries that shall help test the apps better with libraries like Selenium, ngWebDriver, Serenity and Protractor. He is also the author of a Selenium blog AssertSelenium and an Accessibility enthusiast.

Dr. Rainer DeutschmannGroup Chief Operating Officer, Dialog Axiata PLC

Rainer has designed, built and run telecommunication and digital businesses for the last 20 years in mature and emerging markets.

Dr Rajitha is a former Imagineer at Walt Disney Imagineering, Walt Disney Disney Company in USA. During the last decade he worked with scientists/engineers/professors from different institutes and companies such as CSIRO in Brisbane, QUT in Brisbane, AutoCRC in MelbourneAustralia, Walt Disney Imagineering in Los Angeles and Pittsburgh in USA and Disney Research Zurich. During the last few years, he also collaborated with Walt Disney Studios & Pixar, Disney Research Zurich in Switzerland and ABC television media networks in USA. In 2016, his research has been tech-transferred to ABC television media networks to create a fully data science lab to understand audience behavior for TV shows.
