Qazvin a avut o istorie foarte zbuciumată: cucerit de arabi în anul 644 d.Hr., distrus de Gingishan în sec.XIII, în anul 1548 a devenit capitala dinastiei safavide.

Qazvin has been a hotbed of historical developments in Iranian history: Captured by invading Arabs (644 AD) and destroyed by Genghis Khan (13th century), the Safavid monarchs made Qazvin the capital of the Safavid empire in 1548 only to have it moved to Isfahan in 1598.

Bombardat şi ocupat de ruşi în cele două Războaie Mondiale, Qazvin a fost şi locul unde s-a pregătit lovitura de stat care a adus la putere dinastia Pahlavi în anul 1921.

Bombed and occupied by Russian forces in both World Wars, Qazvin is also where the famous coup d’etat was launched from that led to the rise of the first Pahlavi dynasty in 1921.

Qazvin este un oraş cu deosebită importanţă religioasă şi posedă monumente de cult islamic, ebraic şi creştin. Emâmzâdeh-ye Hossein (secolul XVI, reconstruit secolul XIX) este mormântul unuia dintre fiii celui de al optulea imam, un loc de pelerinaj şi rugăciune considerat sacru.

Qazvin is a city with religious significance and has historical Christian, Jewish, and Islamic edifices.Emâmzâdeh-ye Hossein (16th century, redesigned in 19th century) it's the tomb of one of the 8th imam's sons, a place considered sacred.

Lăcaşurile sfinte sunt venerate de iranieni. Să te duci în pelerinaj la acestea (ziarat) este important pentru orice iranian. Saints and pilgrimage places are extremely popular throughout the Shi'ite Iran. To make a ziarat (pilgrimage) to the holy shrines in Iran is very important.

Pelerinajul, în eles ca şi călătorie privată sau țcolectivă spre un loc sacru, este o formă de cult foarte răspândită în religiile antice, practicată şi azi cu intensitate

La Emâmzâdeh-ye Hossein, mormântul lui Hossein, fiul celui de-al optulea imam, vin în pelerinaj iranienii din întreaga ţară. Intrarea principală este decorată cu ceramică din sec XIX

Emâmzâdeh-ye Hossein contains the remains of the Hossein, one of the sons of the 8th Imam, and attracts visitors from all over Iran. The main entrance is decorated with 19th century tiles in floral designs

Chiar şi infidelii (adică noi!) pot să viziteze lăcaşurile sfinte dacă sunt îmbrăcaţi corespunzător (la poartă li se dă femeilor un chador care să le acopere complet) Infidels (we!) are allowed inside the complex itself, providing they wear appropriate clothing (full chador)

Sahn este curtea interioară în stilul arhitectonic islamic şi toate moscheile au sahn, care este mărginit de arcade pe toate părţile. A sahn is a courtyard. As per the traditional Islamic architectural style, almost every mosque has a sahn, which is surrounded by an arcade from all sides

În arhitectura persană în curta interioară a moscheei există de regulă bazine simetrice pentru abluţiunile rituale şi uneori fântâni cu apă potabilă. In Persian architecture, the sahn usually contains a howz, a symmetrical pool, where ablutions are performed. Some also contain drinking fountains.

Mausoleul lui Hussein are o curte interioară tipică mărginită de ziduri pe cele patru părţi şi un pavilion octogonal cu o fântână. În mijlocul a curţii interioare (sahn) se află un iwan îmbrăcat în oglinzi, care duce la mormântul sacru, decorat de asemenea cu oglinzi şi candelabre de cristal.

The mausoleum had the typical courtyard with an ablutions fountain, surrounded by 4 walls of buildings, having the shrine in the middle. The mirrored iwan led to the shrine of Imamzadeh. The inside of the shrine is decorated with mirror and crystal and ornate chandeliers
