How did you attract/address How did you attract/address your audience?your audience?

I specifically chose the colour scheme for my magazine to attract the audience. I chose red, black, yellow and white because they are bright colours that contrast with each other which grabs the audience’s attention and draws them in.

I added a selling line at the top of my magazine including names of celebrities that most of my target audience will already like, making sure that there was something inside the magazine that would definitely appeal to them and make them want to by the magazine.

I adopted a colloquial tone address the audience as I felt this would appeal to them the most. I wanted the magazine to have a relaxed feel because in my audience research I found out that my audience read magazines mostly in their spare time. I therefore tried to keep the way I addressed them relaxed and friendly.

I chose to use a two shot for the main front cover photograph of my magazine. I photographed two males who looked like students and were wearing casual outfits which linked in with the story I chose about them coming from the streets. The photograph has no background and looks professional to reinforce that they are now successful. Their casual outfits make them easy relatable to the target audience.

I added a hypnotic background to link in with the bands name “HypnoBeat” to help make the band instantly recognisable.

I used a female model/artist to attract the male audience. This artist is also portrayed as high profile so that pragmatic knowledge would mean that the audience would automatically be interested when they see this artist.

I used buzz words on the cover of my magazine such as ‘exclusive’ and ‘free’ to draw in my audience.

At the top of my double page spread I included an intro using colloquial language such as ‘chat’ and ‘popped by’ to build a relationship with the audience.

I used fun photographs including nightlife to relate to the audience, I also added a cheap student night out feature in the contents to appeal to my audience as well.

I made the price a big font and but it in a bright, eye catching shape because the price is cheap it has an edge over other ,music magazines to grab the audiences attention.

I used the language of my target audience on the front to make my magazine relatable. I used the word ‘hot’ and the abbreviation of video to ‘vid’.

I decided to give away a freebie in my magazine to gain the edge on other magazines.

I took this photograph as a long shot because it gives the subject a sense of power as they take up most of the frame and you can see their whole body. This gives the audience the feeling that they should look up to this artist.

I used young looking males for the front cover to appeal directly to the teenagers in my target audience. It was important for them to look like every day students to that the audience could easily relate to them and see them as friends.

I used this image on my contents page. I took this photograph from a high angle because I wanted to give an effect that the audience as looking down on the artist as if they were looking in on their life, like they could see everything and everything is going to be revealed in the feature.

Even though you cannot see the subjects eyes, you can see that she is looking directly into the camera directly addressing and involving the audience instantly.

I used a simple font for the main text in my magazine for a quick, easy read which is what my target audience said they would use my magazine for when I did my audience research
