The event will held at our home, 7701 Greenlawn Road, 40242. There will be parking on the field behind our house. Please dress for the weather as our pushups will all be done outside on mats. Pushup Groups: at this point, we project that we will form 10 or more pushup groups with a maximum of 10 people on each. If you want to push with others - a couple of friends, or form your own full group of 10 - please let us know in advance.

Are you ready to get started?

1. Spread the Word: let everyone know that you are doing your part in the national effort to do 1.4 million pushups to honor our 1.4 million active duty military. We would love to have LOTS more people join us to do pushups on Saturday, November 8 – so be sure to invite others to support you and/or join you. Pushup Rounds: after we honor our flag, there will actually be three "heats," during which each member of the pushup group will have 90 seconds, followed by a 60 second "rest" to allow the next group member to approach the mat and get ready. We will tally both personal pushups and pushup group totals for each heat. There will be prizes for high performing group (and high effort!) and individual pushup doers! 6. Can I Do Pushups on my Own and Report Them to You? The pushups will actually be judged – Jack’s dad is actually a Circuit Court Judge and he will be bringing along a few friends to get the job done! – but, if you absolutely cannot attend due to unforeseen circumstances, you can self-report and turn in your donations BEFORE November 7 (email us to ask how). 7. Will There Be “Services” at the Event? We will have healthy refreshments provided by local donors and restrooms available. Though we hope we will not need them, we will have medical personnel onsite. 8. Can I Bring Others Who Don’t Want to Do Pushups? Your friends and family can absolutely come and cheer you on. 9. Do I Need to Stay the Whole Time? Please arrive on time but if you need to leave early, we understand and thank you! The event should be concluded no later than noon. 10. Do You Have Information/Materials I Can Share? Yes! These include: Sample Message: see directly below for a message you can provide to others to help publicize the event Sponsor Form: p. 3 of this packet Event Flyer: p. 4 of this packet 11. Can People Just Show Up? In order to keep things organized and running on time, we would prefer that people sign up in advance. However, if this is not possible, people can just show up (with the understanding that we will do our best to include them – but there are no guarantees that space will be available). Thank you again, on behalf of our whole family – and the 1.4 Million active duty military who give their best every day! Jack Chauvin and his Mom, Laura (and family: McKay, Addison, Whitney – and his dogs and rabbit, Henry, Scooter, Petunia, and Buns!) 314-550-6665

SAMPLE EMAIL MESSAGE YOU CAN SEND TO ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO SUPPORT YOU: I am excited to be part of the Louisville community working to bring a national charitable event called "Pushups for Charity" to our community. As part of this non-profit, kids and adults do as many pushups as they can in 90 seconds. The national goal is to do 1.4 million pushups (in honor of the number of active duty military) and $1M. Funds raised support post-traumatic stress care, job creation, and housing for returning military. On Saturday, November 8, I will be joining with others to do as many push-ups as I can in 90 seconds! If you would like to make a secure online donation to support me, I would be honored to have you. Go here and look for my personal fundraising page: https://www.crowdrise.com/pushupsforcharitylouisville/fundraiser/laurachauvin You can also learn more and consider signing up yourself at: www.pushuplouisville.org Thank you for considering supporting me – and the 1.4 million active duty military who support us every day – and the millions more who have honorably served.
