  • Several times in the mid-1930s, Russell Gregg climbed the town water tower off 21th Street and took photos. This scene is looking west along the W&OD Railroad tracks, which were removed beyond Purcellville in 1939.

  • In this scene, the camera is looking east along the W&OD with the mill that became Magnolias at the Mill restaurant at the bottom center of the photo.

  • Looking west towards the mountains. Main Street is at the left running diagonally to the upper right.

  • The 21st Street business section with White Palace near the top right and the old Purcellville National Bank on Main Street at the top and center.
