What are puppy mills?• Multi-billion dollar business•Commercial breeding and selling of dogs and animals•Breeders sell animals to pet stores and pet owners•The actual mills are usually in horrible condition.•To USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) these are just businesses

How do puppy mills work?

• Breeders force dogs to reproduce constantly. Mass production.

• The litter is sold to make a profit to pet stores or to anyone who wants a dog.

• Dogs are kept in cramped cages, often shared with up to 5-10 dogs.

• No care provided for puppies.• Fed only enough to keep them alive• Kept outside. Kept in wire cages stacked.

Solution

• Our solution is to support bills that are tightening restrictions about breeding, encourage more spontaneous visits from places like AKS, and start organized protests.
