• As a medical doctor, Fink was a relief worker in conflict and disaster zones.

Sheri Fink is a Pulitzer Prize-winning author and a correspondent for the New York Times. Her latest book is Five Days at Memorial: Life and Death in a Storm-Ravaged Hospital covers the tragedies associated with Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath.

Five Days at Memorial: Life and Death in a Storm-Ravaged Hospital has been selected as the 2015 "One Book, One Community" title by the Allegheny Library Association and the Pittsburgh Arts & Lectures. Her visit is an extension of their programming.
