Thank You!
This painting took quite a long time to create.
.
It was created during a time of extremely challenging skin-shedding,
sublime joy, incredible appreciation,
and huge transition in my life.
.
The day I left Peru to come back to America in
July of 2010, I went one last time to visit a tree
I had been working with as my teacher.
.
This tree is called Huarme Caspi and is known to
have a feminine spirit. I took some pictures
of her that were normal.
The chair is where I sat during ceremonies...

When I took the last picture, I immediately noticed
on the camera that there was a spirit there
with the face in the lower left hand corner of the picture....

When I took pictures of the final painting, a light appeared (not of my doing, no Photoshop, no image editing, etc.) in the lower left hand corner of the painting
by his heart in most of the pictures. I moved around, and the light stayed in the same place.

The background and inspiration of these works comes from
my work with the spirits of the plants in the rainforest of Peru.
I had been told by Francisco
(another teacher of mine in Peru) that
the next time I return, I will work with
two trees at once, both Huarme Caspi and Puca Caspi.
.
It is generally known in this medicine work
that Puca Caspi is like the husband to
Huarme Caspi, a male spirit.
.
As I was beginning
this painting I realized that the spirit in the picture
was Puca Caspi, and he was coming to visit me
and Huarme Caspi that day.
He looks very feminine in this painting.
.
He has already started his work with me.
He has taught me many things so far,
and been very strict with me, but it has all
been very beneficial.
.
When I began to sketch this painting,
I was painting outside, it was a
warm October day and I was sketching
in my bare feet. I felt very free and happy.
A sudden wind blew up very strong
and blew away the original sketch.
I looked for it for an hour and then let it go.
My Uncle found it a few days later in the garden.
.
Some elements of this painting were shown to me to be very important.
The shape of the pink swirl on his neck,
the green creature at the bottom center and more.
.
I visualize that he will bring you the same healing and magnificence as he has me.
