Problem-based learning

Focus on teaching the students to memorize large amounts of information. The learner is receiver of information

Teacher-centered: teacher is center of attention and provider of information

Mission 2

The basic concept of the teaching design and learning materials. Of learning theory is a group of principles, that explain how human learning. As well as how to acquire ability and new knowledge. And there are several theories that describe learning. Which those theories can be divided into 3 groups.

Behaviorism - The design focus to enable the students to remember to get the most amount of knowledge.

- The role of the student as a learner is a recipient of information. Teachers will be presenting information, and create an environment that the students will have to absorb a lot of information.

Relation to the concept of the teaching design and learning materials.

Change of principles of learning and instruction into plans for learning activities. Which aims to improve the standard of education. And promote learning But Instructional Design And learning to achieve success at it. Will rely on intermediaries in bringing information to the learner. Mission 3

1. Contents • Corresponds to the different contents • Ex. Laboratory for anatomy subject • Ex. Documentary for evolution subject

2. Ability of students • Corresponds to the different capability of each student • Ex. Students who are blind can not learn in general

learning style. Teachers should design specific learning style including specific medias for them. In addition, students who got specific learning disorder should be done in the same way. Moreover, teachers should realize to prior knowledge of learners as well.

What are the basis for instructional designs & instructional medias ?

3. Technology • In 21st century, technology would be played an important

role for education. Teacher should select those innovation appropriately to the contents and students’ abilities.

• Ex. For molecular content, animation is used to show the structure of small molecules which can not be seen by common eyes.

4. Theory • Teachers need to know learning theories to use in learning

management. • Ex. From constructivist theory, teachers present and

support student to find attitude and mental representation. Moreover, they should give students learning from observation, doing, explanation etc. Students would get skill for knowledge construction for themselves.
