PRSSA SERVICE: UPCOMING EVENTS

If you can’t physically attend the event, you have the opportunity to earn 1 point toward your active membership per 2 medium sized snack items donated.

Items are due by Friday, March 15. Items to donate include:

Bags of Chex Mix or chips Boxed trail mixes or nuts assortments (which

contain portioned packs inside) Platters of cookies and brownies Any other healthy snack someone can think to

donate.

PRSSA FUNDRAISING:“STUDENT SILENT AUCTION”

What: PRSSA at LSU members will be given the chance to auction off their social media and website creation/design services.

Who: Students interested in applying must submit an application. They will receive 1 point toward their active membership for participating.

How: Baton Rouge professionals will bid for your services on a microsite PRSSA will create exclusively for the event. Starting bid will be $25/hour for each student.

When: The site launch and bidding would occur during Spring Break.

Why: To enhance your professional development and raise $$$ for PRSSA!

2013-2014 EXECUTIVE BOARD ELECTIONS

We removed two positions and added three. PR Director has been split up into:

PR Directorhandles traditional media Digital Media Directorhandles online media

Fundraising Directorwill serve on both the E-Board and on ImPRint; must pay ImPRint dues as well.

Service Directorwill serve on both the E-Board and on ImPRint; must pay ImPRint dues as well.

2013-2014 EXECUTIVE BOARD ELECTIONS

Eligibility requirements for potential candidates: Be in good standing with the University, have at

least a 3.0 cumulative GPA and not be on disciplinary or deferred suspension;

Enrollment at LSU both in Fall 2013 and Spring 2014.

Be a Fall 2012 active member. If you are not sure of your active membership

status, you must contact Secretary Hailey Vincent to confirm.

If not, you must confirm that you have received 5 points by March 21, 2013 (elections meeting) in order to be eligible.

2013-2014 EXECUTIVE BOARD ELECTIONS

Candidates must submit a handwritten, completed application to PRSSA Faculty Adviser Jensen Moore-Copple (246 Hodges Hall) by Thursday, March 14 at 5 p.m. Please put in an envelope with your name on it and “2013-2014 PRSSA at LSU Board Application.”

Elections will take place on Thursday, March 21 at 6:30 p.m. in Coates 143. Candidates will be required to give a 2-3 minute speech outlining their goals and platform for that office.

Quorum (1/3 of the membership present = 44 people) must be met in order to properly hold elections. If quorum is not met, elections will be held online.

2013-2014 EXECUTIVE BOARD ELECTIONS

When more than one candidate runs for any position, the order of presentations will be decided by a drawing conducted by the presiding officer at the elections meeting.

After all speeches for a specific position have been conducted, the presiding officer will tally up the votes and announce the winner of that position immediately.

All candidates are able to run for up to two positions. If a candidate is not elected his or her first choice, he or she has the option to run for a second. Again, the candidate will be required to give another 2-3 minute speech.

conduct elections. Tell your friends to come, so they can vote for you!

We are looking for 2-3 seniors and 2-3 juniors to serve as panelists for our advising night. Underclassmen will get the chance to ask panelists tips about scheduling, classes and professors.
