THE BEST VIRTUAL EXPO FOR INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION PRODUCTS

Introduction to :

Protection sheats

There are many different types of protection sheats that are

found in different industries and applications are as Below:

Cable glands Chains

Electrical conduits Heat-shrink tubing

Cable protection conduits Reels

Drag chain Corrugated conduits

Sleeving Braided sleeving

Relay interfaces Digital time switches

C a b l e g l a n d s

Cable glands are devices designed to attach and

secure the ends of a cable to various equipment

and appliances. Cable glands can be constructed

from both metallic and non metallic materials

depending on the intended use and type of

buildings they are used in.

They can be used as sealing and termination

devices for all types of electrical equipments

power cables, control cables and communication

cables.

E l e c t r i c a l c o n d u i t s

These are tubes used to route and protect

electrical wiring in a building or non building

structure. They can be made of fired clay, metal,

plastic or fiber.

Factors such as wall thickness, mechanical

stiffness and materials used to make the

electrical conduits can be used when classifying

them into various categories.

C a b l e p r o t e c t i o n c o n d i t s

These are conduits that are designed to protect

cables from the normal wear and tear they can

be fitted during construction to protect electric

cables from further damage.

They can also come in handy in operations that

involve a lot of friction hence reducing the

expense brought about by constantly maintaining

or purchasing new cables.

D r a g c h a i n s Drag chains are also known as cable carriers,

energy chains or cable chains depending on how

various manufacturers prefer to brand them.

They can be defined as guides designed to

surround and guide flexible cables or hydraulic

hoses connected to constantly moving automated

machinery.

Drag chains are arranged horizontally, vertically,

rotary or in a three- dimensional way depending

on the type of equipment they are used in. Drag

chains are essential in protecting flexible cables

or hydraulic hoses from damage and keeping

them in the right position depending on their use.

S l e e v i n g

Tubular flexible insulation into which wires can

be fitted. They are measured in terms of

satisfying thermal, physical and chemical

properties hence they differ in terms of places of

use and weather conditions involved when they

are used. They can also be used to combine a

lot of wires into one main channel hence helping

in keeping in order wires and avoiding them

becoming a scattered mess.

C h a i n s

Chains are a series of interconnected links

usually made of metal. Chains can be made for

lifting machines and objects from one place as

well as transferring power in machines.

They can also be used together with locks to act

has means of securing a given item or

equipment. Chains can be used in various

activities both household ones and industrial

activities.

H e a t - s h r i n k t u b i n g

This is a shrinkable plastic tube used to insulate

wires hence able to provide protection encases

where wires undergo overheating or there are

various adverse effects in an environment.

They constant expansion and contraction abilities

enable them to fit into any type of electrical

equipment and prevent cracking.

Heat shrink tubing can come in handy in

equipments that normally consume a high level of

electrical current.

R e e l s

A reel is an object around which lengths of

another material are wound for storage. Reels

can be used in activities that mainly involve

temporal erection of equipments.

They can also be used in wiring by wounding

various lengths of wires required in the process

to avoid the environment looking messy. Reels

are mainly made of wood, plastic and in some

rare cases metal.

C o r r u g a t e d c o n d u i t s

These are conduits that are shaped into alternate

ridges and grooves.

The corrugated conduit's profile is characterized by

corrugation in the horizontal section.

They can be either in annular or helical shapes

hence combining them together can be possible.

They can either be made of plastic or metal

depending on the type of construction they are

used in.

Braided sleevings - Threads of silk, cotton or

other material woven into a decorative band for

storing electrical wires. These are mainly

designed to bring out the element of

uniqueness and they can be easily identify from

far.

Braided sleevings are made up of materials that

are not only strong and durable but also ones

that can protect wires that are fitted in them.

R e l a y i n t e r f a c e s

Relay interfaces guarantee reliable and safe

transmission of digital signals that are essential

to the functioning of automated systems. They

amplify and output signals as well as checking

and cleaning them from any notable

interference that may have arisen during the

process.

They provide safety and reliability in terms of

signal conversion while ensuring the quality of

signals remains intact and is not lost.

Digital time switches these are timers that

operate an electric switch controlled by the

binary timing mechanisms.

Individual users set the time they require a

given circuit to be opened or closed and the

digital time switches gladly comply.

These switches are normally almost error

free in nature unless there is a malfunction in

the power source running them.
