Be it her appearance, her costumes or her long hours practice to be a real athlete, Kanika is putting in extra time and efforts to per- fect her role. However, the first and the biggest road block that she is facing is her command over the language and is on a mission to learn the Haryanvi dialect. In the show, Kanika has to speak in hardcore Haryanvi which is currently her biggest challenge. The actress is seen rehearsing her dialogues number of times to get rid of her Punjabi accent and get the diction right. Initially she started practising by watch- ing Kangana Ranaut’s videos from the movie ‘Tanu Weds Manu: Returns’. Now the ac- tress is also seen taking spe- cial assistance and time from a teacher who especially vis- its the set. Talking about the same, Kanika said “Initially reading the script used to make me nervous as its difficult to imi- tate Haryanvi diction. Being a Punjabi, I faced a lot of dif- ficulty while reading the lines at length. Though it’s easier after the support extended to me, I still go back to watch- ing videos of Kangana from ‘Tanu weds Manu’. I would not only like to look the role but walk and talk like a true Haryanvi. (19-8) Budget 2018 adds buoyancy to Education sector One of the key highlights of the budget speech of the Finance Minister Mr. Arun Jaitely has been the initiative on basic education. The ini- tiative aims at improving the quality of education and achieving desired learning standards, district wise. Moreover, a significant budget has been set aside for teachers training and digitization of education and transformation from black- board to smartboards in school. Finance Minister also pro- posed integrated training pro- grams for teachers and made these training essential dur- ing service. These are cer- tainly the steps that would help in improving the stand- ards of school education in our country. FM’s emphasis on Tech- nology to be the biggest driver in improving the qual- ity of education is notewor- thy and it will surely make a difference to the current standards if digitization of education is timely imple- mented. Overall this year’s budget indeed adds buoyancy to the education sector, and the time-bound implementation and monitoring will go a long way in bridging the gap be- tween the global education and our standards. A good beginning, better late than never.(18-7) Why Indians shy away from visiting a dentist in different zones of the country? Dental health indicates the over-all health of an in- dividual, yet is often treated as a step-child. Indians are mostly ignorant towards their oral health and have been guilty of not maintain- ing a healthy dental regime. We often find a way to es- cape a visit to the dentist. And once in a while, when there is a tooth ache, either a home remedy like Clove or a local chemist’s advice is sought. Only 10% Indians visit a dentist regularly, revealed a Consumer Usage & Attitude Study (CUAS), 2016 – a pe- riodic survey commissioned by Colgate and implemented by IMRB. The survey shows that 57% Indians have never vis- ited a dentist till now owing to apathy or expensive den- tal services. 40% of people believe that oral care problems do not need consultation from dentists – 65% of this popu- lation resides in Northern In- dia. People in North India are habituated to using of home/ herbal remedies instead. 62% residents in East In- dia believe that they are not suffering from any problem hence they don’t need to visit a dentist.
