How to find the color when you don’t know the code

How to find the color when you do know the code

System organized by: Color Classes Fan Decks Deck Numbering Page Numbering

The system is grouped into solid color fan decks and effect/metallic color fan decks. There is expansion room for future specialty finishes decks such as matte colors and textured colors.

Fan decks are intuitively arranged into color families and positioned in color sequence. Each deck is numbered for easy identification.

On the back of each field standard (color chip) is a page number and a barcode so that colors can be easily found in the FormulaExpress® formula retrieval system.

If the code of the vehicle is not known…

Select the appropriate deck from the system.

Check the color chip against the vehicle. Select the color

standard with the best match.Check the back of the standard

for the color number.

Type the chip number into the Color Chip Number section at the bottom of the FormulaExpress® screen.

Mix according to FormulaExpress®.

Always make a sprayout & verify against the vehicle before

mixing the full quantity of paint.

Identify the color code on the vehicle. Reference

www.sherwin-automotive.com/formula/ for a complete list of

code locations.

Type the code into the OEM Color Code section of

FormulaExpress®.Select Color Chip Location from

the formula screen.

Note the Fan Deck and Page Number from the Color Chip

Location screen.Select the appropriate deck

from the system.

Check the color chip against the vehicle. Select the color

standard with the best match.

Mix according to FormulaExpress® and always

make a sprayout & verify against the vehicle before mixing the full

quantity of paint.

1 – Yellow 6 – Green2 – Orange 7 – Lt. Neutral3 – Red 8 – Brown4 – Violet 9 – Silver5 – Blue 0 – Dk. Neutral

2nd Position – Color Class
