Th e Mark Greel Band is the professional and electrifying choice to make your event a smashing success!

Th e Mark Greel Band has been performing for 25 years throughout New England and around the World. Th eir tasteful and high energy live performance holds a reputation second to none. Th e Mark Greel Band is consistently the band of choice for many of Boston’s major hotels and party professionals.

At Governor Deval Patrick’s Inaugural Ball, the Mark Greel Band was selected as a headlining act for their distinct ability to please any crowd. Th e Boston Harbor Hotel chose the Mark Greel Band for their 5th star award celebration for their polished pre-sentation and professionalism. And when Governor Romney requested a band for his son’s wedding at the Fairmont Copley Plaza, he decided the Mark Greel Band would be the ideal entertainment for their four hundred guests.

From Sinatra to Mowtown, 70’s to Classic Rock and Roll, Latin to Hip Hop, Th e Mark Greel Band delivers amazing musicianship throughout their wide range of music. Outstanding male and fe-male vocals, a killer horn section and exceptional arrangements have long been the trademark of this full-time band of fi rst class entertainers.

I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our CD demo and to thank you for your interest in the Mark Greel Band.

Th is demo contains short segments from many dif-ferent songs from a wide range of music. From Sinatra to Santana to Outcast and beyond. I’ve also included some of our Latin dance hits, dinner set and cocktail hour samples and even some wedding ceremony and Klezmer music. Th ese selections will give you a good representation of our versatility, vocal performances, and instrumentation. As you will hear, we’re all about horns in this band. We’re very proud of our horn section and the band’s ability to cover a wide array of vocal styles.

While you audition this demo, use these songs as an overview of what we can perform. You’ll be able to customize the song selections for your event and as always, I’ll be reading the crowd. Th e Mark Greel Band is available from four to eight pieces so you can choose the size that best meets your music needs, logistics, and budget.

Tips on the selection of music for your event....

If you wish you may review the song list and highlight some of your favorites. Th is is not required, however many clients prefer to do this as a means of informing us of your general tastes in music and an idea of your specifi c audi-ence requirements.

If you wish to pass on this option, rest assured I will be reading your crowd as the performance goes along and mak-ing the best choices for each particular moment of your reception. I feel it is of the greatest importance to select the “right song at the right time”.

I have more than 25 years experience as a bandleader and can instantly recognize what each event’s needs are and I’m sensitive to the “vibe” of every audience for whom I perform. I never proceed to the bandstand with a preconceived set of songs to play. I believe we must remain watchful of each moment and fl exible to change on a dime if needed. Th erefore I always call the tunes as I go along from song to song. I also feel this gives your reception a pacing and variety that is never exactly duplicated from one function to the next.

You will also notice on page 2 of your “bridal line up sheet” that there is a space provided for your specifi c song requests. I call these the “must haves”. Here you may pick a few songs from our list that you defi nitely want to have performed.

Our song list represents only a portion of all the dance music I have performed in my career so far. If there is a song you are interested in but don’t see on the list then just give me a call or a quick email and I will let you know if we play them already. Th e song list is provided to let you know that we perform a wide variety of music from many dif-ferent styles. Th is has long been one of our trademarks.

Last but not least, we work very hard on arrangements, orchestration and rehearsals of our songs to best showcase our sound, versatility and most of all crowd appeal. I prefer to draw from the bulk of those selections so that we maypresent our songs with the highest possible standards.
