• Work means to function , to function you need energy , and energy means FOOD.
• We spend most of our day time working , and while working we build ourselves regarding personality , life style , and eating habits; Moreover it has a great influence in how we will be spending the rest of our day .
• -Work environment creates an atmosphere of continues rush , time shortage , stress , instability shifting , over times , banquets , travelling .
• -All of these are factors for contributes to eating disorders such binge eating , constipation ,ulcers , IBS , sleeping apnea , nutrients deficiencies or obesity which leads to diabetes , CVDs ,& much more health conditions .
Risk factors &unhealthy eating pattern.
• 1-Skipping meals , specially Breakfast .
• 2-binge eating ( uncontrolled portion size ).
3-Having junk food ,fast food meals and take away for lunch , brunch or breakfast (low nutritive quality).
4-Approximately rare consumption of vegetables , fruits, whole grain and nutritious rich food .
5-office work required no physical activity.
6-Forget drinking water .
- How to implement healthy behaviors in busy working life ?
1- you wake up early everyday ; don’t miss your break fast .
2 -Eat every three hours (small portion to stop binge eating).
3-Snack on fruit , vegetables or healthy whole grain snack bars.
4- Keep a water bottle on your desk or carry it on your purse , hydrate all the day long.
5- take the stairs instead of the elevator and try to move as much as you can.
6-Enjoy your meal eat slowly and chew properly.
7- Plan your meal for lunch ahead bring a home cooked healthy meal with the consideration to portion size with fresh salad , this will help you control your craves and eat less.
8- Create a support team among your colleagues and implement healthy behaviors and choices together.
9-Have a light dinner , Green salad , bowel of fruit salad , Flavored yogurt or an light sandwich . Not pass 8 pm.
10- Try to be active daily at least for 30 min , weather by walking around the block , jumping with a rope in your house , or following an
aerobics video . And remember Small steps count!!
