OUR PROJECTS

Hi again!

Today we want to tell you about some of the exciting projects we have been doing during the last years at Schibsted Tech Polska.

But first a few words about how we work with projects.

• We work in agile - and use Scrum for our projects• Almost all projects include colleagues from both STP

and Scandinavia• Typically the product owner in Oslo or Stockholm, while

the scrum master and many of the developers are in Poland

• Project groups meet for daily stand-ups• After launch we always run a project evaluation to find

out what we can learn to do an even better job in later projects

OK, let's look at some examples of projects we have done...

• Osloby is a website for Oslo, the capital of Norway• The goal was to build the number 1 site for news and

liftestyle in the city• Almost all technical development was done in Krakow

and the site launched on time in June 2012• An important part of the development project was a new

event engine - organizing and displaying events and venues in the capital

• The project included 11 sprints, 150 user stories implemented, 26.669 lines of codes written -  and 3000 cups of coffee :)

• VGTV is Norways largest webtv channel• The teams do a lot of different activities for VGTV • They have built the web, tablet and mobile versions of

VGTV• A CMS system have been built for customizing different

front ends• The team will be working with lots of platforms in the

time to come, including mobile native apps, smart-tvs etc.

• SPiD is the primary product of SPT Payment delivering an easy and secure way to log in and pay across many services

• This is a central and joint payment infrastructure for the whole Schibsted Media Group

• The payment system built by our Krakow team may be used by up to 200 million people around the world

• The new solution will take care of online payments on all Schibsted sites.

• It will provide an easy peer-to-peer payment system, making it simple for individuals to pay for products they buy from other users.

NEW PAYMENT SYSTEM SPiD

• Based in Sweden, Omni offers an innovative and new way of experiencing news 

• Its apps aggregate news and perspectives from many sources, giving users both a quick overview of the news and the possibility to go much deeper

• The Omni app is currently used by more than 500.000 people every week

• Using a custom-made CMS journalists continuously aggregate news from different sources, write short summaries and present the content with links to the different news sources

These were just a few examples. We have run many more projects together with our innovative media partners.
