Business Rules established for Inputs, Tools & Techniques and Outputs (ITTO)

Project Management plan is input for all processes that produce a subsidiary plan as output, eg. Scope Management Plan

Documents specifically named when created as a primary output, eg. Scope Management Plan; captured as part of “Project Documents Updates” subsequently

Precedence rules established for input and output lists – plans, subsidiary plans, baselines, data/reports, updates, enterprise environmental factors, organizational process assets

For consistency and clarity, the monitor and controlling processes were named using the form “Control {XXX}”, since controlling includes monitoring – eg. Monitor and Control Risks changed to Control Risks

Chapter 3 was downsized to introduce the project management processes and Process Groups but not list each individual process; most of this content was moved to an Appendix as the ANSI standard
