• PBL allows for hands on learning.

• PBL is based on current curriculum and educational standards.

How to Begin PBL

• Begin with a big question.– Open ended– Problem to solve– Multiple solutions

• Design a Plan– Create a schedule

Throughout the Project

• Continuous assessment of progress is essential.

• The teacher should provide constant feedback.

• Evaluate the final product.• Allow for students to display their work and

present their findings.

PBL and the Community

• Community leaders can speak to and guide the students.

• The community can view displayed student work.

• This can instill pride in students and community.

Student Benefits• PBL develops useful job

skills.• PBL promotes critical

thinking and problem solving.

• PBL helps foster collaboration skills.

• Students have a personal relationship with the project.

• Students develop presentation skills.
