Part 1 – Research Paper

Research paper on Windmill (100 points):

Project: You are to write at least a two page typed (size 12 font) report on “Windmills”. The paper will be due on March 15. There will be a 5-point deduction for each day the paper is late. The research paper will be followed up by a field trip to visit one of the windmill farms in Somerset County. During the field trip you will be videotaping and taking digital photos. The photos and videotape you take will be incorporated with the information from your research paper to create a persuasive video.

Your research paper should include the following (but is not limited to):

• 5 pts - What person or group initiated the push for the use of windmills in Pennsylvania?• 15 pts - Three pros supporting the use of windmills• 15 pts - Three cons against windmills. (These can be concerns of the public.)• 5 pts - What is the power output of the use of windmills?• 5 pts - Where does Pennsylvania get the majority of its electrical power?• 20 pts - List two pros and cons of utilizing PA leading source of power.• 5 pts - Title Page• 10 pts – Resource Page• 20 pts - Proper grammar and spelling
