CONTENTS
Objectives
1. Obtain an understanding on EU policies and on the funding
instruments related to each policy
2. Enable the participants to identify funding opportunities and think
of ideas that can be relevant to EU funding programmes
3. Provide guidance on how to write a successful proposal for an EU
funded programme project
4. Inform participants how to join existing ideas that will be submitted
for funding
5. Understand the application process (technical proposal and budget)
6. Provide guidance on how to successfully manage and plan a Project
7. Provide guidance on important financial principles of EU funded
Programs and how to successfully manage effectively the Projects
budget
8. Provide information for a successful dissemination and promotion
9. Get an insight into success stories and successful implementation of
EU projects
10. Understand the challenges of managing an EU funded programme
(as a coordinating beneficiary and as a partner)
11. Get an insight f rom evaluators of EU funded programmes and see
the selection procedures from the EC point of view.
At the end of the seminar, each participant should be able to:
Get an overall idea on the elements of a EU funded Project and
familiarise with the various funding opportunities that exist across
Europe
have an in-depth understanding of the main principles of EU funding
programmes
know the EU funding programmes related to its activities, in order to
enable it to think of ideas to submit for funding
know where to look in order to join existing ideas that will be
submitted for funding
network and identify partners to apply together for an EU funded

familiarise with the content of an application form.
prepare and deliver successful proposals requesting funds from the EC
and other funding mechanisms
have a good understanding of that is required in terms of managing
an EU funding programme.

MethodologyThe training approach to be used, which governs the design and
delivery of the seminar is based on the following principles:
To actively involve the participants throughout the workshop session
To enable participants to share their thoughts and enquries
The seminar is designed based on the needs participants. To this end,
case studies/scenarios and practical examples will be used
Workshop Methods and ToolsIn order to achieve the objectives of the workshop, the following tools
and methods will be utilised:
Presentations: presentations will be used in order to provide the
background of each subject and create discussion and questions.Presentations will be limited, short and concise to allow for more
discussion time.
Face-to-face sessions: face-to-face interaction will be encouraged
in order to allow participants and facilitators to meet and interact
in real-time. This method is considered a useful tool for stimulating
conversation between participants to increase understanding and
encourages the sharing of knowledge.
Case studies: case studies will be used so as to facilitate and trigger
discussion, as well as allow external benchmarking so as to achieve
competitiveness

participants organisation with respect to EU grants, thinking forward,
broadening our horizons and identifying suitable funding channels for
the implementation of their organisations objectives.

Course LanguageEnglish
Certification of attendanceAt the end of the course, each participant will be awarded with a
certificate of attendance.
Cancellation Fee and RulesAs soon as the National Authority notifies the Applicant that the
application is successful then the participant should inform us. The
participants are required to pay the course fee at least 4 weeks before
the commencement of the seminar. If the participants cancel their
participation 3 weeks before the commencement of the seminar then
a cancellation fee of 300 euro is applicable. No refund for cancellations
within 3 weeks from the starting date of the seminar. The minimum
number of participants is 10. If the seminar will be cancelled due to
insufficient participation then the participants who paid will be refunded
in full.
Provision for special needsThe premises of the organizer are accessible to participants with
special needs. If the participant needs any special requirements in
terms of food, travel and accommodation we can make the necessary
arrangements.
Special remarksParticipants are encouraged to bring their laptops.
GRANTIf your application is successful all participation costs that are related
to this training are covered by the grant received by your National
Authority. The eligible expenses are the following:

meals are 650 for 5 days.
