Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, California seeks to hire an osteopathic (DO) faculty member to serve as the leader of our program effort to pursue Osteopathic Recognition. You will have outpatient care responsibilities and may choose to have inpatient care responsibilities. You will precept FM residents in the Center for Family Medicine. SPEAKER BIOSEdward Barnes, MD, FACPDr. Edward Barnes hails from the south side of the city of Chicago, Illinois. He and his family migrated to Southern California when he was a child. Dr. Barnes did his undergraduate training at Whittier College in Whittier, California where he earned a degree in Biology. He then went on to earn his medical degree from University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City, Kansas. During his time in medical school he won a four-year Army Scholarship; once he completed medical training he went on to complete his internship and residency with the Army at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Barnes successfully completed his Nephrology and Hypertension Fellowship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. He is also a Veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Dr. Barnes was honorably discharged from the Army in 2010 when he joined Western University of Health Sciences. He is now an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine and the Assistant Dean of Longitudinal and Experiential Learning at the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific. He has continued to be very clinically active as the Director of Renal Services for the newly developed Kidney Health Center, a collaborative team based practice that provides integrated care for patients living with Kidney Disease. He has also partnered with DaVita, the leading provider for dialysis care in the U.S. He currently serves as the Medical Director for a hemodialysis center in Pomona, CA.

Ross Bogey, DODr. Ross Bogey is currently the Director of the PMR Residency Program at Casa Colina. The focus of his medical career over the last 2+ decades has been in neuro-rehabilitation (stroke, acquired brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis). He is also graduate (PhD-level) fellowship-trained in gait and movement analysis, and has been a lab Director or Consultant in 5 motion analysis laboratories. His research is primarily in the area of neuromuscular modeling of movement, and he has developed or co-developed several products used in gait analysis or commercial products for the recovery of gait after neurological injury (several US- and International Patents).

Michael Clearfield, DO, FACOI, FACPDr. Michael B. Clearfield is currently Professor and Dean of Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine in California, a position he has held since 2006.

Prior to his current position, Dr. Clearfield served as both

faculty and administration at the University of North Texas Health Science Center/Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine from 1979-2006. At UNTHSC Dr. Clearfield served as Chairman of the Department of Medicine for twenty years from 1982-2002 followed by four years as the Associate Dean for Clinical Research and the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation Distinguished Chair in Clinical Research.

Dr. Clearfield’s research interests have focused on preventative heart disease, cholesterol management and metabolism and obesity related issues. Dr. Clearfield served as the American Osteopathic Association’s representative to the National Cholesterol Education Program from 1995-2005. Dr. Clearfield has authored over 130 manuscripts and abstracts and was the co-primary investigator for the Air Force/Texas Coronary Atherosclerosis Prevention Study, which was at the time was the largest primary prevention trial performed in the United States demonstrating the ability to reduce cardiovascular events by reducing LDL-cholesterol.

Dr. Clearfield served on the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners (NBOME) from 1989-1998 during which time he chaired the Product Committee which produced the first COMLEX examinations. After completing his tenure on the NBOME, Dr. Clearfield then served on the Board of Directors of the American College of Osteopathic Internists from 2000-2012, during which time he served as President in 2009-10. Dr. Clearfield also served as chairman of the AOA Bureau/Council of Research from 2002-2004 and in 2015 was appointed to AOA Bureau of Osteopathic Clinical Education and Research (BOCER). Since 2012 Dr. Clearfield has served on the executive committee of the Board of Deans of the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic (ACCOM) where he was Chair of the Board from 2014-2016. In 2016 Dr. Clearfield was selected to serve as a Commissioner, as well as a member of the executive committee, on the Commission Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA)

Dr. Clearfield is the recipient in 1995 of the Outstanding Achievement Award from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. In 1997, Dr Clearfield was the recipient of the Internist of the Year from the American College of Osteopathic Internists. In 2003 Dr. Clearfield was awarded the American Osteopathic Foundation’s Astra Zeneca’s Healthy Heart Award, in 2004 the inaugural Darryl A. Beehler DO Research Mentor Award and in 2005 the Gutensohn-Denslow Award for outstanding contributions in research and scholarly activity. In both 2003-2005 he was selected by his peers as one of the top doctors in Internal Medicine in Fort Worth Magazine. In

2009, Dr. Clearfield was selected in the inaugural class of the National Academy of Osteopathic Medical Educators. In 2010, Dr. Clearfield received a special recognition award for outstanding service and devotion to the osteopathic profession by the Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California. In 2013 he was recognized as the Researcher of the Year from the American College of Osteopathic Internists. In 2016 Dr. Clearfield was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California.

Jesse Dominguez, MDDr. Jesse Dominguez’ career is a blend of practicing modern evidenced-based anesthesia and applying creative leadership to improve ongoing programs or to begin new ones. He has had the opportunity to apply these skills within a community healthcare system, a national healthcare staffing organization, and increasingly in the management of complex multicultural projects. He is a graduate of the UC Davis School of Medicine and is currently the Medical Director of NorthBay Healthcare.

Gail Feinberg, DODr. Gail Feinberg is currently a Professor and Chair of Primary Care at Touro University California. She graduated from UCLA with a BS in Psychobiology, and the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, Interned at the Michigan Osteopathic Medical Center and Family Medicine Residency at UMDNJ Kennedy Stratford in New Jersey. After working at Rowan/UMDNJ while her husband was completing his fellowship, she began her National Health Service Corps service in Southern Ohio, and was the medical director for that center for over 10 years. She then moved her practice to a community Hospital’s outpatient center in Kentucky which eventually became a family medicine residency outpatient clinic. Dr. Feinberg then became that residency’s program director and Director of Medical Education. Prior to her move to California, she was the Regional Assistant Dean for the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (7 years), and continues to serve as DME of the Family Medicine residency in Ashland, Kentucky. Dr. Feinberg has completed the AOA health policy fellowship where her paper “Rural America: I still don’t have a physician” was selected for presentation and received a writing award, has completed the Costin fellowship, and most recently completed a Masters in Medical Education through the University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. She has been married to her husband for over 33 years, has two daughters (a lawyer and a pediatrician), and one grandson.

William Fulton, DO, FACOSDr. William Fulton is an acute care and trauma surgeon

at NorthBay Medical Center, Fairfield, CA. He graduated from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed surgical residency at Michigan State University, Botsford Hospital. Following residency, he served in active duty as a general surgeon in the US Army. After service in the US Army, he joined an acute care surgery practice and contributed to the development of the level 2 trauma center at NorthBay Medical Center, Fairfield, CA. As an adjunct professor of Touro University, he is actively involved in teaching medical students. He has a special interest in physician leadership and improving surgical outcomes. Currently, he is practicing trauma and acute care surgery, and is the current Chief of Staff at NorthBay Medical Center.

Dan Gilbert, DODr. Dan Gilbert is a native of Arizona, who grew up in Scottsdale. He obtained a degree in Kinesiology at the University of Colorado at Boulder and a doctorate in osteopathic medicine at Touro University California, where he served as Student Body President. Dr. Gilbert finished his general surgery and urologic surgery residency at Midwestern University in Downer’s Grove, Illinois. He has subsequently completed a fellowship in Robotic Urologic Surgery with one of the world’s most experienced robotic surgeons, Doctor Ronney Abaza in Dublin, Ohio.

Stefan Hagopian, DO, FAAODr. Stefan Hagopian graduated in 1988 from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, Biddeford, ME and did his internship at Cranston General Osteopathic Hospital in Rhode Island. He currently practices in Santa Monica, California.

Virginia Johnson, DO, FAAODr. Virginia M. Johnson is a graduate of Western University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific. She served as an Undergraduate Teaching Fellow. After internship at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Utica, NY, she completed a residency in Neuro-Musculoskeletal Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (NMM/OMM) at St. Barnabas Hospital, in the Bronx, New York.

Much of Dr. Johnson’s personal time is devoted to teaching and advocacy for osteopathic medicine. Dr. Johnson is a Board Member of OPSC, and is the current President of the Los Angeles County Osteopathic Medical Association. A supporter of the Osteopathic Political Action Committee (OPAC), she has advocated on behalf of osteopathic medicine in Sacramento with California legislators, and in Washington, D.C., on Capitol Hill. She is an Assistant Clinical Professor for the OMM Dept. of Western University/COMP, and has been teaching with the Osteopathic Cranial Academy since 2003, where

she served as Treasurer from 2005 to 2010. She recently became Chair of the Osteopathic Medical Economics Committee of the American Academy of Osteopathy, where she is promoting the economic viability of the practice of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. Dr. Johnson practices NMM/OMM in Santa Monica, CA.

Steve Kamajian, DODr. Steven Kamajian is a board-certified family practice specialist who has spent his 30-plus-year career on the frontlines of health care serving the youngest patients to the oldest. He’s treated people in the traditional hospital setting as well as in skilled nursing facilities and hospice centers. Dr. Kamajian also took his skills to where he considered them most in need, and founded the Westminster Free Clinic. Not satisfied with merely setting up another clinical environment, Dr. Kamajian employed the medical home model decades before health care reform and legislated “accountable care” came into play. Simply, he saw the innovative model as an effective means to give the hard-to-reach, low-income patient population access to not only physicians like himself, but also to dentists, pharmacists, nurses, mental health counselors, allied health professionals, attorneys, and others.

A. David Matian, DODr. David Matian is a family medicine doctor in Sherman Oaks, California and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area. He received his medical degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in 1999. He speaks multiple languages, including Spanish, Farsi, and Tagalog.

Jorge Moreno, DOJorge Luis Moreno, D.O. is a husband to a lovely wife and a father of seven healthy beautiful children. He has been practicing Integrative Medicine for 20 years and initially began his practice as a traditional hands-on Osteopath. He is the Chief Medical Officer of Center for Wellness located in Los Angeles, California. In the past six years he has volunteered at Monty Robert’s Horse Sense for Healing weekends offering Veterans and their families support.

Dr. Moreno continues to teach at the Expanding Osteopathic Course at Western University of Health Sciences. For 6 years he also has taught residents from Downey Community Hospital Foundations. Family Practice residents work with him at the Cantwell Sacred Heart of Mary High School football games. Dr. Moreno continues to volunteer as team physician and attends all home football games, and some basketball, soccer, and volleyball games. He also mentors residents, medical students and pre-med students. The Academy of Comprehensive Integrative Medicine hosts Dr. Moreno as a regular speaker. In 2015, he and a group of like-minded physicians began

to develop an Integrative Medicine Model in Omaha, Nebraska at Cornerstone Progressive Health.

Shorin Nemeth, DO, FACOIDr. Shorin Nemeth is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and Pain Medicine. His particular field of interest is cancer pain, but he treats all types of painful conditions. He has a holistic approach toward Pain Medicine which focuses on the biopsychosocial model. He has lectured throughout the country, been extensively involved in Resident and Fellow education, and served as a Subject Matter Expert on Pain Medicine for the American Osteopathic Association.

Dr. Nemeth is now located in Portland, OR after spending nearly a decade in the Midwest and Northeast. He is currently the Regional Medical Director for Palliative Care, Medical Director for Oncology Palliative Care, and Medical Director for the Pain Management Strategic Planning Committee at Providence Health.

Dr. Nemeth and his wife, Dr. Pucilowska, have one child, Charlie, and a malamute named Mishka. In his “leisure time”, he and his wife enjoy cycling, rock climbing, ice climbing, hiking, and yoga.

Jonathan Terry, DO, ABIHMDr. Jonathan Terry is a board-certified psychiatrist, accomplished educator, and author. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN), a Diplomate of the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons (NBPAS), and a Diplomate of the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine (ABIHM). In addition to serving as a consultant in the fields of mental health and addiction for the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) and the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry (AAAP), he is a National Health Service Corps Ambassador and works primarily with underserved populations. He currently serves as Medical Director for the San Jose Behavioral Health Hospital and as an expert witness for mental health cases in California Superior Courts. He is on faculty at A.T. Still University, Touro University, and Alliant University.

Bradley Wajda, DODuring his 30 years of practicing in Central California, Dr. Bradley Wajda has amassed extensive experience in adult and child psychiatry as well comprehensive substance abuse treatment. He has served in many local inpatient and outpatient positions, including that of corporate Medical Director for Kings View Corporation and Medical Director for the Kings View Substance Abuse Treatment Program of Tulare County.

Through Esano Corporation Dr. Wajda provides personalized mental health services using a range of treatment options in conjunction with integrative medicine.

Dr. Wajda received a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Oklahoma with graduate work in radiation physics, and was awarded the degree of Doctor of Osteopathy from the Oklahoma College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1987. He completed his internship and residency in General Psychiatry at the UCSF-Fresno Medical Education Program in 1991.

Dr. Wajda is board-certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Physician Specialists. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Forensic Medicine, a Life Fellow of the American College of Forensic Examiners, and a buprenorphine-certified physician with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. Additionally, he served as a member of the oral and written psychiatric certification examination committees for the American Academy of Physician Specialists, and is member of the Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California. Teaching medical students is a very rewarding (and frequent) part of his life, and he is a member of the Graduate Medical Education Committee at Saint Agnes Medical Center Fresno. Dr. Wajda spent 2.5 years contributing weekly on the local NBC affiliate, was featured on an In Focus Television segment hosted by Martin Sheen, and spent several years as Dr. Brad of Radio Psyched www.radiopsyched.com.

Lt. Col. David Wang, DODr. David Wang is a board certified radiologist with subspecialty training in musculoskeletal and interventional radiology. He is currently serving as an active duty Air Force Interventional Radiologist at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas. Dr. Wang earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia in 1994, and then earned his doctorate from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1999. He completed his radiology residency at the University of Colorado in 2009. Prior to becoming a radiologist he served as a General Medical Officer Flight Surgeon at Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii and the US Southern Command in Florida.

Ann Wexler, MDDr. Ann Wexler is a board certified Hematologist and Medical Oncologist. She is originally from San Antonio, Texas and did her medical school training at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. After medical school, she moved to New York City and did her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Saint Vincent’s Hospital. She accepted a position as chief resident at Saint Vincent’s Hospital prior to entering

a three-year fellowship program in Hematology and Oncology, also at Saint Vincent’s Hospital. After training, she moved to Berkeley, California and joined the Alta Bates Comprehensive Cancer Center. She worked in private practice in the Berkeley area for 10 years where she also acted as Director of Medical Oncology. She has since joined Solano Hematology Oncology to continue working in private practice in Vallejo, California, where she has been for the past year and a half. She is currently Director of the Tumor Board at Sutter Solano Hospital Cancer Center.

Clipper Young, PharmD, MPH, CDE, BC-ADMDr. Clipper Young is an Assistant Professor and a Clinical Pharmacist in the Primary Care Department at Touro University California College of Osteopathic Medicine. He obtained his Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) at Touro University California College of Pharmacy and then completed a two-year fellowship focusing on Pharmacy Education Administration and diabetes at the College. He also holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of California Berkeley School of Public Health. He is a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) and has obtained Board Certification in Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM).

As a clinical pharmacist, his practice mainly focuses on providing diabetes consultations, cardiovascular risk reduction, and medication therapy management at Solono County Family Health Services Clinics, a series of federally qualified health centers affiliating with Touro University California. His work also includes clinical/outcome research, teaching, and community outreach with an interprofessional team (doctors of osteopathic medicine, physician assistant, dietician, clinical research nurse, pharmacists, and basic scientist).

John Zopfi, DO, FACOSDr. John Zopfi is a general surgeon, trauma surgeon, and the trauma medical director of the Level 2 trauma center at NorthBay Medical Center in Fairfield, California. He is a 1986 graduate of the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona (Western University) and completed his internship and general surgery residency in 1991 from Grandview Hospital and Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. He was granted the title of Fellow in the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons in 2000. He is currently completing his Masters of Science degree in Healthcare Administration and Interprofessional Leadership at the University of California, San Francisco. His is active in youth soccer where he currently serves as the Chairman of the California Youth South Soccer Association and is a member of the United States Soccer Medical Advisory Committee.
