Professor Ari~ns Kappers -- a Tribute From 1963 to 1975, Prof. Dr. J. Ari~ns Kappers played a pre- eminent role in the editing of the Journal of Neural Transmission. It was, above all, his supplement volume summarizing the Symposium on Neurohormones and Neurohumors held in Amsterdam in 1967, which gained international recognition. In 1975, he advocated the expansion of the Editorial Board and recommended the present editorial staff. Prof. Ari~ns Kappers retired a year ago and it is now his wish to be relieved of his editorial duties. We feel sure that the members of the Editorial Board join us in thanking Prof. Ari~ns Kappers most sincerely for his outstanding contribution towards making the journal more widely known and helping it to attain its present high standard.
