In addition to the draught seal between the frame and lid, the loft hatch has an extra concealed draught seal between the frame and ceiling.

This virtually eliminates warm air and vapour leakage, it also assists withdecorating of the ceiling up to the edge of the frame.

The 3000 series Loft Hatch is strictly compliant to the following regulations for loft hatches:-

Part “L” of building regulations i.e. 0.35 U-Value. NHBC compliant for loft hatches, including 520mm clear opening in any direction. UKAS accredited air in�ltration test, compliant for loft hatches without addition of extra sealant to the external frame. Compliancy to NHBC regulations Chapter 7.2 Section D14 "to a minimum clear opening of 520mm in any direction". Compliancy to Building Regulations “Part L”. Air tightness tested on a positive and negative air pressure at a UKAS accredited test house without the addition of any on-site sealant between the frame and ceiling.

The loft hatch insulation is CFC & HCFC free, ODP zero and compliant to Eco Homes standards of a GWP (global warming potential) rating of less than 5.

The Profab 3000 series Part “L” compliant hinge down Loft Hatch is the ultimate in simplistic design. With an ultra-smooth maintenance free white �nish, the loft hatch needs no painting and projects 7mm into the ceiling space.

The plastic frame holds a �ush plastic door with a pin type hinge to one side. The door is held closed with either a twist lock (TL) or Key Lock (KL). The door opens down towards the user and is removable during installation or if damage occurs. Insulated with 105mm of EPS insulation to comply with up to date building regulations Part L1a.

Supplied �nished with an ultra-smooth maintenance free white �nish. A 5mm gap is maintained between the door and frame.

All ‘Loft Hatch’ panels are for internal use and only in areas of normal humidity.

EXAMPLE:Access panel type 3000. Size 762 x 562mm single door ‘Loft Hatch’ supplied by Profab Access Limited.

OTHER OPTIONSThe 3000 series ‘Loft Hatch’ is designed and manufactured to provide quick and easy installation with a discreet quality appearance when �nished. Only limited modi�cations are available with this product due to its design.

However Profab do manufacture a wide range of access panels. Our manufacturing �exibility provides for bespoke designs, alternative sizes, locks and paint �nishes.

Discussions with Profab should take place at the earliest opportunity when speci�cations are being considered.

INSTALLATIONApertures should ideally be formed between the timber trusses/joists if at 600mm centres, with cross-trimmers �xed to suit selected panel. Suitable frame packing should be used at �xing points to ensure frame remains square. Typical �xing details are shown on this data sheet.

Loft ladder installations are possible with this produst and Profab should be contacted for further advice before speci�cation or installation.

OPERATIONThe loft door has a quarter-turn catch with an integral chamfer for a smooth closing action. A key lockable version is also available. However, a lock can be purchased at a later date, for retro �t if required (note an extension pole cannot be used with the key lock version).
