Idea and development The idea for this EU funded Grundtvig Project has been founded in spring 2010. The learning partnership "Professional Usage of Media in Educational Context (Adult Learning) - PUMEC" offers adult learners – who are teachers as well as learners - a real and a virtual platform, the Virtuelle Bildungshaus, for the improvement of their competence with the use of multimedia devices. In order to accomplish this, the involved project partners from Germany, Poland,Finland, Scotland and Ireland will work together to build a Virtuelle Bildungshaus, which will be their training object in dealing with effective multimedia teaching technology. The project partners will become acquainted with each other within the scope of the learning partnership, both through personal exchanges during their visits to the partners (mobility) as well as the exchange in virtual rooms. Moreover, the teaching and learning materials will be exchanged by teachers and learners. The result will be made accessible to the public on a project homepage as well as at a final professional conference. During a two year project term, ideas and proposals will be collected, so that at the end of the learning partnership project a professional forum for the development of virtual learning and teaching materials and methods can be established, e.g. in the Grundtvig programme multilateral projects. General Aims For The Project Getting to know and use the new media. Application of the new media (Virtuelles Bildungshaus, interactive Whiteboards) for classes. Exchange of teaching and learning materials between the European partners in the concept of best practice. Development of a glossary for the users of the Virtuelles Bildungshaus in all languages spoken by the partners. Dissemination of results via a project homepage and a professional conference. Project aims defined by ZAK Wildau We want to raise the awareness of our adult learners and teachers/trainers for the use of the new media such as interactive whiteboards and the Virtuelles Bildungshaus, the benefit being more pleasant and satisfactory work. At the same time, it brings more possibilities of taking advantage of using the materials created by other colleagues (Best Practice). The exchange of experiences with the colleagues from the PUMEC partnership organizations shall contribute to that at least four colleagues of the ZAK staff will be using the Interactive Whiteboard regularly by the end of the PUMEC project. All staff members with access to a computer workstation shall use the VBH at least for internal communication. Project aims defined by the Lanuage Institute

All staff members with access to a computer workstation shall use the VBH at least for internal communication.Project aims defined by the Lanuage InstituteTheLanguage Institutewants to encourage the wider use of technology in language teaching by overcoming some of the problems that currently inhibit innovative technology usage. The first is a natural inhibition that language teachers, particularly older ones, have to technology. The second is the limited availability of truly integrated technologically-based resources. The third is that school administrative systems are not technologically linked with its academic systems. By its participation in this project The Institute wants to inspire its teachers to see the potential for innovation in teaching; to participate in the development of a teaching platform and the adaption of this platform to the needs of language teaching and school administration; and to benefit from the exchange of ideas that will occur through contact with other organisations committed to similar outcomes.Project aims defined by OmniaOmniahas the following aims for the PUMEC project Teach the trainers to use new media in their training through peer coahing Give the students a chance to study independently in spite of time and place.General aims for the project Getting to know and use the new media.
