No hypocrisy, or lies, leaving out all

complication,

To love unconditionally, no gender,

caste, creed or religion,

Nor the concept of outward appearances,

holding a distinction,

That is what it feels to be a child, true to

heart,

Adults we need to change, so let’s go

back to start,

Laugh out loud, forgive and forget,

Child o’ mine, you are my inspiration!

“You can chain me, you can torture

me, you can even destroy this body,

but you will never imprison my

mind.” – M K Gandhi

One evening as I sat sipping my

evening tea, I heard two young boys

discussing, “It’s very simple, there

was this dude called Rama, he and his

brother joined with these monkey

army and fought with this bad guy

called Ravana, to free up his beau

Sita” and he went on and on. Just then

I realised that it was Ramayana, the

epic, 11 year olds’ version. Its’ this

generation’s version, they change

everything to suit to their trend.

Likewise 15th of August is merely a

day to enjoy a holiday or to watch

new movies with friends. Unfortunately majority of the parents

impart only this to their children. As

parents it’s our duty to tell them and

make them realise

the importance of the day and install

patriotism in them.

Patriotism just means love, respect and

loyalty towards our country. Instilling

values of patriotism in children will help

them to become responsible citizens.

Children should be taught to honor and

respect the national flag, national emblem

and other national symbols. They must be

taught to stand up when the national

anthem is being played anywhere.

Children should be taught never to destroy

national property and always be civil

citizens. Along with this, they should also

be taught to keep our country clean. They

should be taught to avoid littering on

roads. Parents could make use of

technology and play movies about freedom

struggle to children. Its’ never too late

ensure you teach patriotism to your

children now. As responsible educational

institution we do our part and expect the

same from you.

The Tree

Above me a colourful life lies,

Inside the pupa, before it flies,

Flying messengers sleep on me,

Showers make me blossom flowers,

With uniform pace, they destroy my race,

I am the tree, who cares for human,

Also the tree destroyed by inhumans…

- By Ameer, (X B)

Chennai

Chennai is our city,

We are little naughty,

We have plants which are pretty,

And girls who are really a beauty,

We have Marina Beach,

And teachers who teach,

We see the Sun rise,

We have beautiful blue sky,

Friends who never wave good bye,

Sweet smelling wind which blows,

And lovely tortoise which walks slow - Bala Darshini (VI A)

Mother

The only equation to prove love,

Who has the heart and warmth of a dove,

She covers her child under her wings,

Making them chicken wings,

Sacrifices her needs and wishes for mine,

Sings for us at Nine,

When people ask, who is your best

friend?

I say my mother till the end. - By, Samuel Varghese (X B)

My Soul

If I was the earth

The desert in fact,

With avid dry soil,

And mud, baked and cracked

You’d be the rain,

The downpour that sooths,

The balm to my bruises,

Relief to my wounds

If I was the Earth,

With sand that sprawls,

And luscious beaches,

Crabs nestle in me,

Then you’d be the foamy sea,

That washes the footprints of,

Her visitors…

- By Prisha Tripathi (IX B)

My Brother

My brother is lovely,

And always funny,

He is so kind,

My mistakes he never minds,

His mind is empty,

But, he is always noisy,

He frequently fights,

But acts very quiet,

He cares and shares,

Best of all gifts God showered - By Prasheetha. S (VI A)

Nature’s Beauty

Nature has trees with roots,

And offers life and fruits,

Protects our Earth,

Human beings Hearth

As long as we live,

Nature will always give,

Its in our hands to make,

And never to fake

Nature in its own beauty and beyond,

Be a river or a pond,

We can get back our lost lands,

It lies only in our hands.

Next Chapter

This poem is about a School unknown,

From a boy unknown,

Most of you don’t know my name,

Though that’s not my aim

Memories of School from which I

came,

Stuck to me like my name,

Forever it would stay in my heart,

Until the day this Earth I depart

Today in this new place,

My heart has its own space,

Many new faces I see,

Though I don’t understand thoughts in

me,

It’s the chapter’s end,

Though I thought it would never end,

Now I enter the next phase,

Warmly welcome by friendly faces. - By Abhay Anand (VIII B)

Endless search

Mom, where are you?

Without you, I have none for me,

I search and search but couldn’t find,

Times passes by, but I can’t find you,

Mother you left me,

To suffer endlessly alone,

My days have become dark,

Wondering what made you leave me?

I know you have to lead your life,

This is just the beginning,

Lots more to see in my life

Lots more to see in life…

Ever changing life

Oh! Its spring time,

My first day on earth,

My life has started from today,

The youngest on this tree,

Rest being yellow, brown and

green,

My best buddy, a plum next to me,

Who is young just like me,

Time passed by,

I turned gold,

And my friend ripe,

Now I am brown and lonely,

Soon my time to fall off

- Janeen Joseph (IX B)

Nothing is more precious than Independence and Liberty

- Ho Chi Minh

On the 15th of August, our nation saw

the first light of freedom in 1947. Many

nationalists brought liberty for India.

The students and staff of our school

celebrated this event in a grand fashion.

The guest of honor was Dr. Vinayak

Senthil, he had unfurled the national flag

and commemorated the event. The

junior and senior choir sang songs about

Indian freedom struggle. Our senior

students had performed a fusion dance,

which was applauded well by the

audience. There was also a skit performed

by the grade VIII students, the topic

fighters in Andaman jail. Post which

our chief guest shared a thought

provoking speech, it was both

humorous and didactic. The school

head boy Master. Pon Sairam,

delivered the vote of thanks. These

events were very thought provoking

and would always remain green in our

thoughts.

Field Trips are important to help bridge

the gap between education and hands-on

experience. Field trip is a wonderful way

to extend a learning experience in such a

way that the students not only

understand the concept, but also

understand how it connects to their

world. Field trips are vital for students to

have a chance to view and explore

historical places and different social

institutions. They provide an opportunity

for the students to visit new place, meet

new people, see and understand the

things which are taught theoretically in

class.

We at The Pupil School strongly believe

that our students need to understand

every concept which is taught in class

and ensure to take them on field trips as

and when required. Our tiny tots’ of

UKG were taken to the Madras Catering

Institute on educational tour. Grade 1 to

Egmore Government Museum to learn

about the Artifacts and Grade 5 students

were taken to Brindhavanam old age

home for community service.
