PRINCIPAL’S REPORT Hello everyone, Scott is currently on leave so it is my turn to fill you in on what’s been happening over the last couple of weeks. It certainly has been a busy couple of weeks. Several of our senior students took part in the Debutante Ball at The Sandhurst Club and what a spectacular event it was. The students worked hard on their dance routine and after we all enjoyed a fabulous meal before the dancefloor opened up. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves. To keep the dance theme going, seniors took part in the Special Schools’ Music Festival this week. This is a coming together of schools from the South East region to perform a musical piece in front of friends and family. It’s always a busy day but a highly rewarding one. Look out for the performance on METV. As you all know, today is a pupil-free day to allow all staff to come together in a full day of professional development. One area of focus is around leading student voice, agency and leadership, a key area currently being driven by the Department of Education. We will look at what this looks like for our students and how we can maximise student voice across the school. We will then be doing some work around social competencies. Several classroom teachers have been asked to provide a presentation on teaching and learning programs that focus on the development of all of those really important skills that we all need for a successful life: resilience, team-work, celebrating the success of others, turn-taking and perseverance. There are some spectacular programs running across the school and it’s so important that we create opportunities for us to work collaboratively outside of our own departments. It promises to be a busy but highly productive day for us all. Stay warm and enjoy your weekend. PRINCIPAL’S REPORT Hello everyone,

Scott is currently on leave so it is my turn to fill you in on what’s been happening over the last couple of weeks. It

certainly has been a busy couple of weeks.

Several of our senior students took part in the Debutante Ball at The Sandhurst Club and what a spectacular event

it was. The students worked hard on their dance routine and after we all enjoyed a fabulous meal before the

dancefloor opened up. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.

To keep the dance theme going, seniors took part in the Special Schools’ Music Festival this week. This is a coming

together of schools from the South East region to perform a musical piece in front of friends and family. It’s always

a busy day but a highly rewarding one. Look out for the performance on METV.

As you all know, today is a pupil-free day to allow all staff to come together in a full day of professional

development. One area of focus is around leading student voice, agency and leadership, a key area currently

being driven by the Department of Education. We will look at what this looks like for our students and how we can

maximise student voice across the school. We will then be doing some work around social competencies.

Several classroom teachers have been asked to provide a presentation on teaching and learning programs that

focus on the development of all of those really important skills that we all need for a successful life: resilience,

team-work, celebrating the success of others, turn-taking and perseverance. There are some spectacular

programs running across the school and it’s so important that we create opportunities for us to work

collaboratively outside of our own departments. It promises to be a busy but highly productive day for us all.

Stay warm and enjoy your weekend.
