Welcome to the exhilarating world of Vedic Astrology -- a tried and true system ofknowledge for understanding your place in the “scheme of things”! I think you’llfind your Vedic Horoscope Analysis extremely stimulating and informative. Itshould feel like “seeing” yourself through a new “lens” -- perhaps for the first time.

I’m fortunate to be able to provide this astrological perspective through the effortsof Das Goravani, author of the Vedic Astrology computer program “GoravaniJyotish”. As you read his introduction and explanation of “Jyotish” following thisforeword, I think you’ll understand why I chose Das’s program from among thoseon the market. He has clearly created it with love and reverence for the divine --a love and reverence which I share.Granted, some of the verses drawn from ancient texts are archaic, (butinteresting!). Please note that some of the language sounds “dire” or at the least,very dramatic! I think you have to temper these ancient texts with your ownawareness. Also, any astrology reading has what appear to be contradictions orinconsistencies. That’s because there are different aspects in our charts, whichmirror the different parts of our psychological makeup which are not alwaysconsistent, either. We’re a myriad of potentialities, when you get right down to it!

INTRODUCTION

Vedic Astrology is called “Jyotish” which is a Sanskrit word. “Jyoti” means “light”and “Ish” is short for “Ishwar”, which means “God”. So “Jyoti-Ishwar” or the “Lightof God” is pronounced “Jyotish” (ja-yo-teesh).

Using “Jyotish”, or Vedic Astrology, means to recognize that God does His or Herwork of controlling the upbringing of all the children of the Universe through acomplex interactive system of energy rays, or “light”. The focal points of thisenergy are the spheres we know as planets, which the Vedic Books ofKnowledge teach us are actually personal “Demi-Gods”. It is through these focalpoints, in their ever-changing dance around our solar system, that we can readthe unfoldment of the plan of God for us. What is planned for us as individuals isfrozen in time and in our birthchart, which are simply maps of the heavenlybodies at the moment of our birth in relation to our place of birth.

The Sages of ancient India, receiving this science from God, passed it downthrough generations of their disciples. Eventually, around 5,000 years ago, theybegan to put their science into written form and it has been recorded and passedon that way ever since. Now, in modern times, we have the advantage of theaccuracy of astronomy and computers. I have written a very astronomicallyprecise chart-calculating software program. Into the program I have enteredmany readings from classic and modern astrological scholars describing the“meanings” of the planetary positions in the birthchart. In your hands you nowhold your readings--each of the specific placements of the planets in yourbirthchart.

As you examine the readings given for your birthchart, remember that they areunblended, and therefore may cancel each other out to some degree, and alsobalance each other out. For example, one paragraph may say that you have astrong positive quality, while another paragraph may assert that you have thestrong opposite negative quality. Which is right? The truth lies in the middle; atsome point in your life you will no doubt experience one quality, and at othertimes you experience the other. There will be a blending of the two oppositeenergies throughout your life.

There is a certain beauty in knowing that Divine Order has a plan for us, don’tyou agree? We can, after surrendering to this fact, go through life, with all its upsand downs, in a happy state of mind which the Hindus call detachment. Whathappens, in the end, is not entirely up to us. We are players in an already writtenplay, and we generally don’t know the script, but there is one, and it comes froma purely benevolent Divine Order. Our dreams, hopes and wishes are generallyself-centered and based on a vision of ourselves as these bodies we temporarilyinhabit. But this is not the vision of Divine Order, which sees us instead as


gradually evolving souls learning lessons in each life, which are retained, thoughthe material attainments of each life are not. The purpose of life is notnecessarily to be happy! It is to learn our lessons well, and those, the Vedassay, are carried forward to our next destinations. Therefore, it is important whenapproaching a comprehension of Vedic astrology, to understand that it is not ourservant, but rather, we are its servants.

I hope I’ve helped you understand how to begin analyzing your chart more fullybecause it’s my personal goal to spread these basic principles to as many peopleas possible. I truly believe the end result will be an expansion of the overallenlightened state of society. The more we all believe that the benevolent hand ofDivine Order is guiding our lives, the more we will be able to surrender to thatDivine Plan, which leads us, as individuals, to ever-higher states of Grace andPerfection. Vedic Chart Analysis for the Prince of Cambridge

You acquire much money and spend the same on philanthropic programs. If thewealth and status you acquire are not employed for the public good, it will befoolishly dissipated. You learn that all power must come to an end.

You are a popular "go-with-the-flow" kind of person. You are very responsive tochanges in the environment and other peoples' needs. However, you maychange your mind and direction on matters for the wrong reasons and thus gaindisfavor from others. People may consider you somewhat careless about theneeds and feelings of others on occasion. You may experience some restrictionin life from natural movement. You will get best results from making choiceswhich benefit you long term, avoiding a tendency which may surface to bendrules for immediate gratification.

You have a well-proportioned, tall body with a broad head, long nose and brighteyes. A charming and graceful appearance with fair complexion. You will berefined, soft-spoken, pure-hearted and an innocent looking countenance. In caseyou happen to occupy a very high position in society, you will not like to expresspomp and show and will dress simply. You give respect to all and are God-fearing. A good fifth house blesses your offspring, especially your first child and generallyyour relationships with children, according to the standard Indian interpretation ofthese placements known as "Suputra Yogas", or combinations that make for an"auspicious son". It also speaks to overall ability and success in the process ofcreation and off-springing quality things in life.

A well aspected fourth house or a favorably placed fourth lord can indicate livingin nice houses, owning nice cars and having a fortunate mother or having a goodrelationship with her. It is a beneficial indication for overall happiness in life.

Happiness, education, conveyances, lands, agriculture, etc., will thrive well. Youwill construct new houses. You will plant trees and your agriculture will flourish.

Jupiter in this sign arouses egotism, allowing you to justify every action.Luxurious habits, idealism, and secret maneuvers will bring much wealth andpower.

Lower half of the body is lean and upper part proportionately bigger and thick.You do not like cold weather or your health will not permit you to stay in coldregions. You will have a high fever continuing for a longer period when you are


20 years old. The left parts of your body will be subjected to burns at 35 yearsold, but you will live for 90 years.

The Moon makes one ritualistic, and surrounded by psychologically disturbedpersons. Your relations take advantage of you.

The Ascendant lord, Venus or Jupiter are located in a Kendra, which will blessyour overall live to some degree. To have at least one good angular placement isof advantage for material life in general. If all three planets are in Kendras, thenthe Yoga would have an accordingly more strong and powerful effect. Fortune,wealth and other material blessings would be almost guaranteed throughout life.

Saturn is exalted in this sign, and as such it sheds much of its malefic nature.Saturn makes you very well-disciplined, having perfect control over your psycho-biological reactions. You will be able to manage your property efficiently. Youmay be interested in spiritual knowledge, through which, in your own way, youwill be preparing yourself to meet the final challenge. You will accept no one'sguidance in this regard.

Mercury in this sign will not be damaging, though your social life is not all it couldbe. Your life will be a core of secrecy, and you may receive some legacy. Theremay be much renown and status as well.

Libra in the Twelfth house makes you indulgent in sensual pleasures. You areinterested in worldly status, and religious sensibilities are somewhat directedtoward mere observances.

Cancer is essentially a sign of mental relaxation and enjoyment of the senseswhich often operates through narrow parochialism. Even when you are under itsinfluence professing generosity and universal sympathy, your gaze isconcentrated on maintaining your own position in society and on self-aggrandizement.

10-With Leo in the Tenth house you may be subject to delusions. This positionsometimes leads to the performance of undesirable acts.

08-With Gemini in the eighth house, you are unable to control or regulate thepowerful impulses of your karmic past, as a result of which you move indirections motivated by your subconscious. Your mind is often torn between


several conflicting ideals. You know your motivations are selfish and narrow-minded, but you also possesses a profundity of vision which shows you theshallowness of your own life. Intellectually, you will be quite sound, and yourintellect will often lead to spirituality.

03-Capricorn in the Third house will produce many unexpected relationships inyour life. Under this sign, you associate with crystal gazers, occultists, andreligious philosophers. You are sharp-witted and quick in grasping thesignificance of any situation.

01-Scorpio in the Ascendant bestows physical beauty and attractive legs andthighs. Sensitive to criticism, you can be very alert and quarrelsome. You seemto take special delight in verbally chastisng your friends. Ordinarily, you are luckyin marriage but your sex life remains undisciplined.

Moon connected with Mars indicates extreme sensitivity. The Moon/Mars personmay also be reckless, explosive and impulsive in action.

03-The Moon in the Third House discourages the influence and importance ofsiblings and makes you very courageous whenever someone creates trouble foryou. Otherwise, you will be a person of few words, concerned with enjoying thegood life, spending time with your family, and interested in spiritual matters. Youare naturally austere in one sense, and therefore not easily attracted tosuperficial beauty. Your faith brings you success or renown, and you like your


siblings very much. Happiness in general is something you get from your karma.You have a changeable disposition, and like intellectual pursuits. You will probably begood looking, but you may have trouble from imbalances inside the body likeindigestion. You may experience distress from too much hard work, you will likeintoxicants, but will be virtuous and honorable, eloquent. You may have talent inthe areas of time, space, science, geography, cartography, navigation, etc.

You have sharp mental ability, critical thinking, good energy for lots of education.Some trouble may appear in the body parts connected with Gemini such as thelungs or arms. Brothers and sisters pose somewhat of a problem.

There is some indication that you will have two spousal relationships, but this is avery general reading. The cause of this reading is very common being in almosthalf of all charts.
