There has never been a more exciting time to work in tourism or with Visit Belfast, the city’s official Destination Marketing and Management Company. Visit Belfast has an exciting opportunity for an undergraduate currently studying for a relevant university degree in marketing, communication, advertising or travel and tourism to join the Business Development Team. Our internship programme lasts for one year – running from June/July 2018 to June/July 2019. Reporting to the Leisure Trade Manager, you will be responsible for promoting Belfast as a top European destination within the Leisure and Travel Trade segment which includes tour operators, travel trade and leisure groups. What skills will you develop? During your internship you will be given the necessary mentoring and training to develop the following skills and experience: Practical experience in the co-ordination, planning and delivery of sales and marketing activities in the tourism industry. Business development and relationship management skills. Business to Business (B2B) sales and marketing skills. Experience of dealing with leisure trade partners in ROI, GB, Europe, USA and China markets. Experience of working with Visit Belfast industry partners. Destination marketing skills. Commercial acumen. Planning and prioritising workload. Communication and interpersonal skills. Updating and managing leisure trade content on Visit Belfast marketing platforms including on digital channels and across Visit Belfast guides and publications. the Ohio State University Extension, Belmont County Office by 4:30 p.m. on August 1, 2016. LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. 5. Interviews will be held on August 9, 2016 at the Belmont County fairgrounds in the

Wise Building- Time schedule to be announced. 6. Crowning ceremonies will be held on Tuesday, September 6, at 3:00 p.m. at the Swine

Belmont County fairgrounds.

To be dressed with crown/hat and sash when acting in the capacity of Belmont

To dress in an appropriate and neat manner as you are representing ALL Junior Fair

organizations and their members. No midriffs, cleavage, or undergarments are to be

visible. No sweatshirts or t-shirts, unless item of clothing is representative of your

Junior Fair organization. No holes or clothing appearing to be worn out.

To greet people and be a good will ambassador for the Belmont County Agricultural

Society, Belmont County Junior Fair Board and all Junior Fair organizations.

Willing to be interviewed; talk about the special events and activities of the

fair; explain the benefits of youth involvement in the Belmont County Junior Fair and

various youth organizations, etc.

To attend livestock shows and distribute ribbons, trophies, etc. to award winners and

have pictures taken with award winners and sponsors.

To greet sponsors and thank them for their support.

To attend the Junior Fair Livestock Sale to greet the buyers, have photos taken with all Grand and

Reserve Grand Champion Animals and to hand out ribbons and pens to buyers, as they check out

during and following the sale.

To greet the children during Fair Field Day and make appearances at various stops of the Fair

Field Day tour.

To remove your crown and sash when you have other responsibilities as a Junior Fair

Exhibitor. For example, when showing your animal.

To seek assistance from other Junior Fair members to help you when royalty

obligations conflict with other obligations.

To participate in two parades in Belmont County. Any arrangements needed for the

above must be made by the royalty themselves.
