OrthoTexas Hires Dr. Kevin Kulwicki to Serve Flower Mound PracticeOrthoTexas enhances its “Patient First” care philosophy with hire of shoulder and elbow

(Dallas) October 14, 2013 – OrthoTexas, a North Texas orthopedic practice comprise of 28 world-class orthopedic physicians and surgeons, announces today the hire of Dr. Kevin J. Kulwicki. Kulwicki specializes in shoulder and elbow surgery, and orthopedic sports medicine. He will help further the practice’s Patient First approach to care from the Flower Mound location.

Kulwicki’s specialties include treating joint arthritis, fractures, rotator cuff tears, and overuse injuries. He also specializes in technological care advancements like Endoscopic Carpel Tunnel Release.

Prior to joining OrthoTexas, Kulwicki worked as an Orthopedic Sports Medicine Consultant at Kentucky Christian University and a Team Physician for Boyd County High School in Ashland, KY. Kulwicki also worked as a Staff Orthopedic Surgeon at Kings Daughter’s Medical Center in Ashland, and in Wisconsin at North Shore Orthopedics and Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital.

Kulwicki also holds extensive military and combat medical experience. In addition to serving as Chief of Orthopedic Surgery in Baghdad during the Iraq War, he served a tour as Chief of Aviation Medicine in Honduras, and as a Flight Surgeon in both Korea and Egypt. Kulwicki’s stateside assignments include Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at DeWitt Army Community Hospital, and Officer In Charge of Physical Exams at Lyster Army Community Hospital.

Kulwicki’s education includes a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Marquette University and a medical degree from Saint Louis University. Kulwicki also completed an internship with Madigan Army Medical Center, an orthopedic residency at Tripler Army Medical Center and a fellowship at New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases.

Kulwicki belongs to multiple professional societies, including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Medical Association, Society of Military Orthopedic Surgeons, and Army Flight

Surgeon Association. He also holds a multitude of certificates, including the Certificate of Additional Qualification Sports Medicine and more than 15 military awards.
