DESCRIPTION

This presentation examined new ways of envisioning Complete Streets and Active Design Guidelines. Urban Planners and Public Health officials still need to think much more holistically when it comes to designing healthier and more pedestrian-friendly cities. A major challenge is for us, as design professionals, to help others see their built environment much more clearly in terms of demographics, social capital, community entrepreneurship, and the capacity for local-led stakeholder improvements driven by public and private investment.
